  1. It came out alright. Coated the SawStop and the Planer today with the Carbon Method stuff. Mostly just helped to clean up the top of the SawStop a bit. Probably should have cleaned it more before sealing as it was a bit of a mess and tons of scratches from the Incra sled. Also wrapped up the neverending mail tray project so will be glad to get it out of the shop. Really do not like the shape of this but was not willing to do a ton of work on this Kasia BFF freebie.
  2. Yeah, went to a higher pitch roar and the flex hose that goes down to the drill press retracted and the barrel lifted from the floor. Thought it was something stuck in the run, but switched to the other trunk and had the same issue. Something in the cyclone maybe, not sure. Only other issue I had with it is suction is so high that if you do not clamp a board down it will suck the board across the table and up into the spinning drill bit.
  3. Also, the Supercell Turbo does not seem to work with the big shavings from the drill press. Started making crazy noise and seems to have completely jammed up as the barrel lifted right off the ground.
  4. Milled and drilled the Moxon vice. Determined that the under mount drawer for the woodpecker table does not work for me as it just takes too much of the travel of my limited drill press. Cannot even get the whole Wood Owl auger bit set on the drill press when the drawer in place. Really handy for storage but I guess it only works on a free standing drill press. Determined that the new Fisch Forstner bit kit is a big step up from the Woodcraft one I was using. Determined that a drill press that can spin at slower than 1350 RPM is dramatically better for these big bits. The Arm-R-Seal makes it a bit yellow but it will need all the strength it can get thrown around in my shop.
  5. Had no idea the Hammer bandsaw came with seating. Fancy. Really like that Redwood. Cannot really get it easily around here. Speaking of wood, is the considered quilted maple or one of the other million types of figuring?
  6. Did the Carbon method on my two shittiest cast iron surfaces, the bandsaw and the jointer. Shopfox seems to use the shittiest cast iron. Went on easily but I think it is too cold/dry to really apply it as they say 50 degrees at the lowest and my shop is right around 57 these days. They definitely look a lot better now. We will see what the glide stuff does tomorrow after these 4 coats cure.
  7. Scratch that. Did not pay attention and bought the 10 1/4” blade. Also, improvement for Dust Collection at the CNC is massive. So much better than the standalone 750CFM Dust Right that used to sit next to it. So much more suction that the flexible hose whipped up to the ceiling and took out all the magnets on the bandsaw next to the CNC.
  8. Bought a new Woodworker II for the table saw and I guess my others were so dull that I have to move the brake cartridge to even fit this new one on. Guess I should have sent them for sharpening a long time ago.
  9. Working on a way to mount a base into this three sided mail tray heading to Missouri. Need to keep the rainbow poplar thick for the best look so might have to cut a rabbet in the poplar with 1/4” left to slot into a 1/4” groove in the maple. Then maybe some space balls to allow for expansion.
  10. That is fucking impressive. The 4” hose will knock a house off its foundation if you don’t watch where you swing it. I assumed I could connect train cars with the fucking 6”. No idea how that could even happen, but I will be watching for the flashing red light.
  11. Typically you can buy the Magentic Switch Controller and wire it inline after the magnetic power switch. They are working directly with Oneida on the option they quoted me and it appears to be a customized magnetic switch controller and a customized shitty Oneida remote. Need to find out why the second “custom” Oneida remote is needed.
  12. Ahh. I guess the ClearVue does not have the stupid ass magnetic switch. I have to run like to extra controllers and still use the shitty Oneida remote to run everything if I want auto DC turn on/off with the Oneida. No way I could fit something as tall as the ClearVue in here but I tried to figure out a way.
  13. Also want to point out to Mr. Positivity that the hearing protection hanger I printed is still going strong. It did not, in fact, break within a week. Which dust collector do you have? Did you buy all the extra shit to allow the iVac remote to work with a dust collector with magnetic power switch?
  14. ^^ What a prude. First day of actually using the Oneida Supercell Turbo thoughts: 1. Loudest tool in the fucking shop. 2. Remote is super shitty and too small. Will need to buy 12 to stick them to every tool. Also needs direct line of sight to the unit. 3. Due to needing the hose mount on the left, my filter cleaning bar thing is on the back and kind of a pain in the ass to operate. 4. Jointing and planing two small boards with a couple of cuts on the table saw has almost half filled the 35 gallon drum. I have not figured out how to determine how much better this system is than the previous, but it seems to me to be less dusty in the shop than usual. Picture of the two boards ready for glue up for interest.
  15. Finished the dust collection system revamp. Ended up needing just about every one of the 700 outlets the electrician added to my shop just to power all the iVAC pieces. Even managed to use the seriously heavy duty hose without seriously injuring anyone. Need to come up with a way to reinforce the barrel lid as the bang on startup and shutdown is annoying.
  16. They got close with the spokeshave. I guess they did not even mention the Krenovs as they mention three planes which would be the two craftsman and the Veritas.
  17. Mostly finished with running ducting for the dust collection system. Kind of a weird bastardization of PVC and flexible hosing but seems to work. Just need the last two blast gates as I am going to try to trick the iVac system into doing what I want it to. Opened up the files and they seem to be all Nicholson with the exception of one Austrian and an Indian Bastard file.
  18. Guy had a very nice shop and there were some serious deals on large equipment that I could not figure out how to get delivered here. This is the same auction place I got the $400 Supermax 25-50 drum sander from as they provide shitty pictures and typically the wrong details in the minimal write up. The Krenov style planes were listed as wooden blocks I believe and the blades were not visible so they had no idea what any of the stuff was.
  19. Yeah they both have the Hock blades and both have been very well setup. Also got a ton of rasps and some vintage craftsman planes that are perfectly dialed in.
  20. I threw in a bid on an estate sale auction down in Texas to get the Veritas but everything is fairly nice. Especially for $15.
  21. No doubt. Knocked the garage door out of its tracks the last time I tried to move the hose a few inches.
  22. I need to make some turns and the thing is so unnecessarily stiff that every time you move one end the other end whips around and knocks the table saw over on its side. The blue Rockler stuff works perfectly with the Oneida so no reason to try to route a hose that has zero flexibility.
  23. It definitely sucks better than the Dust Right. Before, after always being connected to the 1250 CFM Dust Right 4 feet from the router. And after 5 second running through a crappy Rockler flex hose.
