Yeah, I was very happy with a usable ISO 16000. The lights are being upgraded at the Museum so lighting was fairly weak throughout, especially in the Shuttle area.

Shop happened to have the hard to find battery grip for the D750 so I bought it and a new Nikon branded Black Rapid Sport strap. Of course I just got the L Bracket for the D750 w/out battery grip this week.

Some from the restoration and back of house area. The next large exhibit the Flak-Bait during resto.

I found Major Tom Tiny little stunt plane. Tiny little non-stunt plane. Slightly larger tiny plane

It is a fantastic museum. I have never made it into the restoration areas, it was pretty neat. First a few ISO 16000 samples.

You guys should have come out here. Today is open house so they let you back in the labs/hangars to see the stuff they are working on now. They also have a lot of kids stuff going on.

Figured I would grab one and try it out today at the Air and Space Museum.

I have to assume with all the need for photos at SI they were predominately using outside talent for 90+% of their work already so these guys were just the big guns for studio stuff. Hopefully this was a side job for most of them as they have their own studios, etc. I actually met Bill Frakes on the sideline of a Giants game and he was very informative and put up with a lot of my questions about shooting a pro game. I am trying to choose a wide angle for the setup now. 14-24, 24 f1.4, 16-35 or 20 f1.8. I had never even heard of the 20 until Peter mentioned it but it looks like a great lens for the money. What say the HC Photo Club?

Nice Bryan. I did some snapshots as the cloud and wind rolled in today at lunch. Part of a giant rally on the Mall. Mostly Catholic school girls but I did not want to be the creepy guy taking pictures of them. Second Army Division Memorial

Looking for more NAS help from the storage gurus amongst us. Thinking about the new DS 415+ to see how the new Atom quad core processor works but I keep reading reviews that show the QNap TS-451 is faster at most things. Is it largely the software that makes the Synology worth the slightly higher price or is the Qnap just not at the same level hardware-wise? Also, are the WD Red 6TB drives considered reliable by the computer folks?

Happy Birthday Mike.

I like Bokeh better on the 35 f1.4 Canon, I think.

Looks like my D750 is on the recall list so I took it out today to see if I could replicate the problem. Couldn't make it happen so I guess I will have to look into it some more to see how people are making it happen. Loving the AF on this camera. 100% Crop And loving the Sigma Art. Really hoping an 85 version comes soon.

It was a lot of fun. The piano stuff was easy, Let Her Go by Passenger and the guitar stuff pretty basic Heart of Gold on the Boucher and Here Comes Your Man on the Tele.

Sat in on my first gig on Saturday night. While I only played keyboard on one song and guitar on two it was a lot of fun. Actually used my JH-13s on stage, mostly to block out everyone else as I get too easily distracted when playing/counting.

That is pretty pronounced fringing there CJ. I do not remember that on either of the Nikon 1.4 D & G lenses I used to have. I barely know how to work PS, LR, etc. so I have no idea how to fix that.

Not to mention an AF system that is light years ahead of my old D800, better ISO, none of the lag I had with the D800 and a lighter body. Seems like a much better camera for a Dad chasing kids around.

Got tired of waiting for the RRS L Plate to come in stock so tried to set focus on the Lens Align system with an old Manfrotto head I had in the closet. Sharpness seems to be as good as I can get it now. Of course RRS just got the D750 L Plates in stock so I should have that next week to do some nighttime shots in DC. Just to make Brent jealous.

Just came out. I actually got it in Hi Res from HD Tracks and it is a fantastic album.

Happy Birthday guys.

Went out today looking for bald eagles but found nothing but little birds.
