  1. Anyone here tested the PecanPi XLR-out/DAC with the Pi as roon (or LMS) endpoint? Measurements look pretty amazing and I am thinking about ordering one and if it passes the listening test, putting it in a nice custom case with a GRLV. So... ETH in and XLR analog out. To be used with all the amps here. Nice control via iPad.
  2. I was comparing the HD800 to a HE-6 planar on a RSA The Dark Star. Both phones were pretty close, the HE-6 won by a small amount. And I still have this combo. Gorgeous build, John, congrats. Btw, what are the transformer covers that you are using? And what are the PCBs on the back and the one mounted on the front panel right next to the phones jack?
  3. Ordered the new LV transformer. Double insulation between the secondary windings as Craig has suggested earlier and 15-0-15 for the 30VCT winding.
  4. Just a light catch. Appreciate the hint!
  5. Looks like the CT on the HV is optional. Looking through the old threads 475V without CT is spec'ed as well. So, luckily no new HV transformers are needed, only one for the LV.
  6. But 30-0-30 spec'ed secondary is not the same as 2*15. It should have been spec'ed 15-0-15 unless this is different in the US. Attached what's printed on the PCB as well: CT-AC30-AC30. Strangely enough the output caps C23/C24 are 50V but the input C21/C22 are 25V only (again according to silk layer on the PCB).
  7. Exactly! And it doesn't end here... Spec'ed is on the same page for the HV transformers 2pcs of: Pri: 110/220v Sec: 475v/150mA | 285v/60mA | 75v/60mA where the PCB says 485-CT-485, i.e. CT. With other words, I sadly need a full set of new transformers...
  8. Looks like the 30-0-30 spec'ed secondary winding on http://tee8tee4388.blogspot.com/2013/07/t2-diy.html is wrong and has produced overvoltage smoking the 25V cap.
  9. Finished the PSU and turned on the LV part only, first the trafo, measured, connected the secondary 30VAC winding to the board, measured 12VDC out perfectly. I was about to measure for the relais as I could not hear it clicking as I noticed both C21/C22 getting extremely hot. At this time one of them smoked. No idea how I came up with but those are 25V 4700uF United Chemicon. I think 25V might be on the lower side and 50V should be more appropriate. Any ideas? Going to swap them with Nichicon 50VDC 4700uF. Specs for the LV transformer including 30V-0-30V secondary winding were taken from this page: http://tee8tee4388.blogspot.com/2013/07/t2-diy.html
  10. The spec sheet that's on the google drive says for the 2sa1968 npn as well.
  11. BC-1 MK-II Control Amplifier from Bridge Audio Laboratory
  12. John, how do you tell they are not fakes? Have you tested them and could you describe your test procedure? Found here some more on ebay https://www.ebay.de/itm/184068141515
  13. This one? https://www.mouser.at/ProductDetail/Toshiba/2SC3324-BLTE85LF?qs=3kEcuH7qFhf%2BqtD790h%2B%2Fg%3D%3D
  14. The SCT3080KLGC11 is three times the price of the G3R450MT17D. Is it that much "better"?
  15. John, have you already tried out the G3R450MT17D?
  16. Thanks, very nice. Posting here the catalog link to the Souriau SMS series quick lock connector and pdf catalogue as well.
  17. I use the same. The specs show different ratings 250, 400, 630V. For the small currents in the stat amps should be more than fine I guess.
  18. Thanks, Kerry. Looks like the pitch is 4.14mm on these. Aren't the phoenix terminal blocks as well 250V?
  19. I was looking into and not all are 5.08. The ones with more pins and double row aren't. Maybe @Kerry can sched some light. In the mean time I was looking at the Molex SPOX. All 5.08, directional, various pins available as well. Can be used wire-to-board as direct replacement for the terminal blocks on Kevin's PCBs: Wire connectors Board connectors
  20. Also 5.08 pitch which makes it possible to use them instead the usual phoenix block type connectors. Thanks, Kerry.
  21. Hi @Kerry, which series exactly is the white board mounted 8-pin 2-row connector in the upper left corner, is this a Molex Mega-Fit? Thanks much again.
  22. Hi @Kerry, nice build as always. Mind sharing the p/n for the white clips holding the pot cables to the PCB spacers? Thanks a lot!
  23. Anyone has some BC556CTA or know where to find the Fairchild C version? The BC546CTA is still available at Mouser though.
  24. Thanks! I have used 4x 550V 680uF caps within a GRHV.
  25. Look here for the Pi image, Ropieee. Really easy, self install, can do roon, squeezeserver, etc. endpoints. https://ropieee.org
