  1. Gotham:
  2. Someone was just telling me about that non-shopped pic of Keira Knightley, I hadn't had a chance to look it up yet. Thanks.
  3. Finished Dark Matter Also caught up on iZombie, Castle (new season started a couple weeks ago), and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. (two episodes into the new season). Got Gotham to catch up on. Also:
  4. If it happens again, try not using the back button, and instead go forward to the home page by clicking on the logo. I do (use the back button), but ... do as I say, not as I do. No, seriously, just try it and let us know if that solves the problem, just a WAG on my part.
  5. Well obviously they are on a mostly latitudinal track, Houston is just too far East. Maybe they're following ley lines?
  6. That might have been a fit and/or seal and/or source and/or amplification problem. If you used the triple flange tips and pushed them all the way in (albeit not dangerously so), so that you got a good seal, they lacked no bass. They did have a mild midrange suckout, but I tend not to mind those (my Dynaudio Special 25s, my Audio-Technica L3000s, and the Sony MDR-7506/-V6 all have a mild midrange suckout).
  7. Also, I have no idea how to rehost videos, and am far too lazy to find my favourite ones on YouTube to repost here. Consider yourself lucky I don't post all the ones I find even remotely entertaining.
  8. Well the domain says "fbcdn.net", so...I attribute that to Facebook.
  9. Went back and listened to Soma -- yeah, that didn't suck, neither. I liked its patience a little better, but I prefer the more recent release's previously described balance. Also really dig John Grant's Gray Tickles, Black Pressure from NPR's First Listen -- really great contemporary alternative.
  10. Yeah, fuck that, all of mine are on Facebook. Soz.
  11. They installed new A/C / Furnace. I babysat. Now I'm fried, so I go Phase 6 Asleepyness.
  12. (squints) Used IEMs? (involuntarily shudders)
  13. Lollers. When I told someone on head-fi that I didn't think I could listen to Merzbox, someone called me a wimp. I lollered. Heck, I smile a little bit inside just thinking about it. Yeah, pretty sure I can't do the Throbbing Gristle, neither, and if anyone calls me a wimp for that, well, that says more about you than it does about me.
  14. Whoa, VII?!?!? I'm behind...(resolves to catch up)...
  15. Exactly. Sometimes I enjoy nee crave that kind of writing. Although... ...when they're being marched with the soldiers in episode...12?, and the Marauder asks, "where are you?" "On our way to dinner, apparently" sounded like they were making fun of the soldiers' uniforms.
  16. Dark Matter -- I love the writing on this show: Five: He seemed happy here. Three: He seemed nothing. That guy was harder to read than that book he gave me. One: That book is a classic. Three: Whatever. Pig's a wimp. Spider's a know-it-all.
  17. NPR's First Listen has some winners this week. Son Little, in particular, is some tasty soul.
  18. (Etsy shop) Marshmallows: The filming of MGM's famous opening credits:
  19. Soon -- not this weekend, obviously. Was moving a bunch of stuff into storage, passed my downstairs neighbor. She asked me if I played guitar (I was holding a guitar box). I replied in the affirmative. She said she really liked it, it really mellowed her out, keep up the good work, and other, positive, affirming type things. So...that was nice. I mean, it's sort of bad that she can hear me at all -- I play kind of late, didn't realize she/they could hear me all that well -- but at least she doesn't hate it. I'll make sure to watch my volume after hours. I'm just practicing scales. Which is funny, when I practiced piano as a kid (still living with my parents), whenever I practiced scales or arpeggios, my mother would ask me what piece that was -- I think she loved those the best.
  20. Nick Beggs, the "ghost" of the Royal Albert Hall -- posted by Nick Beggs Glass igloos for watching/sleeping under the Northern Lights.
  21. This is awesome. It balances that same delicate point between that slow, funereal, stoner metal without being emo about it, and Pitchfork indie hipster -ism. Haven't heard that since that Black Mountain album.
  22. Lollers, it's no bigger than Utah:
  23. It goes without saying.
