  1. Cauliflower with yogurt/Sambal Oelek dip. I'm seriously addicted to this.
  2. Still want to move to Chicago, Jeff?
  3. Yeezh. Glad it wasn't worse.
  4. Thanks, guys! I'm pretty sure I've long since been superseded by whiteboards and dry erase markers.
  5. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/wickedplayingcards/wicked-tarot-playing-cards Pamelina H. makes Tarot cards. Why do I care? Well, I love "cool" symbolism, and the Tarot is cool (case in point, the 10 of Swords). Also, there's a small chance I will win this guitar:
  6. I'm going to die before I retire, so I should probably only put in to get my matching.
  7. Thank you, all! All those pictures are great, you all know me so well. It started out kind of hungover (just a little bit -- I got a little carried away and drank the entire bottle of Enchanted Path, and it's been a while since I drank that much), but the day has otherwise been laid back and very enjoyable. I just had a pizza, and now I'm going to eat an eclair. That's fine, I've got some more. I'll probably just stick with gin and tonics and splashishes, tonight, though. I don't think wine goes with eclairs, and I don't want to "accidentally" (air quotes) drink an entire bottle again, not two days in a row, so not even starting.
  8. Wait, what? (wanders off to look up google florence (austin-city-limits OR acl)...) I actually quite like her music, too.
  9. Smotherlicious!
  10. New Dave Gahan and the Soulsavers on NPR/First Listen -- very gospelly (go figure)
  11. That reminds me of the joke, whose punchline goes, "I know she didn't like it that way, so I put it back."
  12. Cheers. He's one of my favourites live. I've probably seen him live as much as I've seen anyone else live, starting admittedly late in his career during the early 80s (Cielo e Terra tour, I think). That said, I loved it every single time he played. Highlight was front row about 10 years ago, where I was so close, I could have reached out and strummed his guitar for him (I didn't).
  13. Redshift binge again. Knucks -- when that guy (?) said, "I could listen to arpeggios all night", he could just as easily have been talking about a large portion of Redshift's output.
  14. Gotham:
  15. Someone was just telling me about that non-shopped pic of Keira Knightley, I hadn't had a chance to look it up yet. Thanks.
  16. Finished Dark Matter Also caught up on iZombie, Castle (new season started a couple weeks ago), and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. (two episodes into the new season). Got Gotham to catch up on. Also:
  17. If it happens again, try not using the back button, and instead go forward to the home page by clicking on the logo. I do (use the back button), but ... do as I say, not as I do. No, seriously, just try it and let us know if that solves the problem, just a WAG on my part.
  18. Well obviously they are on a mostly latitudinal track, Houston is just too far East. Maybe they're following ley lines?
  19. That might have been a fit and/or seal and/or source and/or amplification problem. If you used the triple flange tips and pushed them all the way in (albeit not dangerously so), so that you got a good seal, they lacked no bass. They did have a mild midrange suckout, but I tend not to mind those (my Dynaudio Special 25s, my Audio-Technica L3000s, and the Sony MDR-7506/-V6 all have a mild midrange suckout).
  20. Also, I have no idea how to rehost videos, and am far too lazy to find my favourite ones on YouTube to repost here. Consider yourself lucky I don't post all the ones I find even remotely entertaining.
  21. Well the domain says "fbcdn.net", so...I attribute that to Facebook.
  22. Went back and listened to Soma -- yeah, that didn't suck, neither. I liked its patience a little better, but I prefer the more recent release's previously described balance. Also really dig John Grant's Gray Tickles, Black Pressure from NPR's First Listen -- really great contemporary alternative.
