  1. RIP and condolences.
  2. Yeah, what it boils down to (fnar fnar) is what kind of taste one wants. Me: got tired of having pasta arrabiata canceled everywhere I could find it, or having one place spice up some marinara with red pepper flakes -- bleargh -- so I made my own. It was delicious.
  3. Happy birthday! (party favour noise)
  4. Pakistani American artist Anila Quayyum Agha. Intersections, Laser-cut Wood, Single Light Bulb, 6.5' Square Cube, Completed: December 2013, Cast Shadows: 32'x34'.
  5. Earlier today I followed Jacob's advice of a longer stew time with more liquid and lower temperature, and the stew beef came out much more tender. I had also left it in a bath with more orange juice than previously.
  6. A little late (my hours are fucked up again), but...
  7. RIP Maurice
  8. Finished season two (of ^ ). Started season two of Marvel's Agent Carter -- totally love this show. "Who's a good boy? Who's a good boy?" -- Peggy taunting Stark with a (his) bloody Mary.
  9. http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/50236454/ It's right at the limit of checking in size, so don't overpack it.

    Oh snap!
  11. ...the hell? It was a bright, sunny day (by the time I stepped outside).
  12. Who said I was entirely kidding? I have literally heard electrostatics get better here in the winter.
  13. Galavant -- this might be the second greatest show ever (after Archer). Two episodes in a row had me laughing -- Giants vs. Dwarves and About Last Night.
  14. Also humidity -- especially with electrostatics. I realize that might not be much of an issue where you are (Greenland? Iceland? Frozenshitholeland? No, wait, that last one's Canada...and maybe some parts of Minnesota and North Dakota), but here in the DC tri-state area...
  15. Considering the camera puts on an extra 10 lbs., you have lost a lot of weight since I last saw you, Brent -- well done, sir.
  16. You must be a physicist. Real world amp building is a catalog of compromises. Some cans have very demanding impedance profiles, and there are amps which are better suited to those types of cans. And I echo Purk's statement. Although this may not be what he was trying to say, "wire with gain" sounds like the "accuracy" school of thought -- that is certainly not the only school of thought, and just because you don't fall in with these other schools does not mean amp builders won't still cater to them.
  17. Steven Wilson live at Wiltern Theater, LA, 13-06-2015 -- so far this seems to be a verbatim performance to the one I saw last year, including the between-song banter.
  18. Looks delicious! What are those first ones -- they look like bite size summer rolls...
  19. I was there then promptly passed out (insomnia prior night), but I've already listened to it a couple times on showreel -- good show!
  20. Yeah, exactly. I've been East coast my entire life, but the Airplane and early Starship still epitomized the hippie sound that I associate with California hippie music. This is probably my favourite song by them:
  21. I <3 my L3Ks. The Qualias need to seriously be positioned correctly. They are ridiculously sensitive to position.
  22. That faux fireplace is really faux sooty!
