Spirit of Talk Talk -- quite possibly the best tribute album I've ever heard, but probably should hear first before buying, because it's not as varied as any other various artists album I've heard. They very carefully stayed towards the more sombre side of Talk Talk, which is made all the more obvious from the bonus tracks.

I don't know, I wouldn't mind hearing him do that Korea cheer song he did for the 2012 olympics, "Korea", or whatever it's called. Envying Al right now. I kind of really dig Psy.

Peter Gabriel is awesome live. Congratses and good-on-youses to everyone else.

You mean, besides the fact that it sounds like nothing else ever or since? It is the musical equivalent of Pluto. Or perhaps Haley's Comet is a better analogy. Me: My Bloody Valentine, Loveless -- I have to admit, I haven't listened to this in a few years, so am listening to it afresh. Yes, there's nothing new there -- in terms of individual elements -- great raucous distorted guitars, wall of sound, looping, some heavy whammy bar action (or perhaps it's done in post), subdued airy female vocals, but the combination is what makes it sound fresh. It's like he took the most unlistenable moments in the studio, looped it at some of the most awkward moments, and then cast some pixie dust around until it was musical. It takes a carefully brandished combination of naivete and studio wizardry to accomplish this, and a certain oblivion to expectation, which most people will never achieve. Slowdive's Just for a Day is easily my favourite shoegaze album proper, but this is by itself on another plane entirely. Loveless:Pumking::Just for a Day:Schlafly

Hey Head-Case, what's your bandwidth like?

Can I come over? Permanently? -
Yeah, it's out of my budget. Still thinking the Equators. Unless I find out street is significantly less.

I was just thinking that coaxial should be better in the nearfield than...uh...non-coaxial, when I saw this: KEF powered computer speakers They also claim they have a coaxial speaker based on the LS3/5a, but alas it is not powered, so would require a USB/DAC/Amp, same as the Gallos.

I don't know if GG works like this, but BD's has a separate price for one bowl or unlimited bowls -- I'm cheap, so I usually go for one bowl. I haven't been to GG often enough to know if there is a different price (I've only ever had time for one bowl, as I usually go during the work day), I'll have to check the next time I'm there.

Goddamnit. Somehow I missed this earlier.

Just came back from Genghis Grill -- new favourite place to eat. I can be whimsical and get exactly what I want at the same time. (Mongolian grill where you put the ingredients in a bowl and they stir-fry it for you.) I think I'm going to have to get a wok for home.

6.7?!?!? Want. Oh, and just so that I contribute something to this thread, today, on Amazon gold box, at 2:00 PM PDT, they had Lexol Leather Cleaner, Conditioner, and Vinylex Combo Pack on sale, and then at 6 (now) they have AK Anne Klein Women's Draca Boot on sale. Coincidence? Maybe, it looks suede.

OMG, it's a book about touching yourself at night! The head-case bible!

It is my understanding that there are certain scenes that one should not "charge through".

Not that you're taking a poll, but I think it should be gunmetal with black knobs. That reminds me of a joke that Steven Tyler made while on camera with Joan Rivers some time in the 90's. Do you know what the difference between pink and purple is? The grip.

Really? 'cause: "pennies". Also: really? Just a $100 Ikea amp? Where the hell is the disdain and rejection from team overkill? Obviously it needs to be a magnetically isolated sandbox with gyroscopic correction mechanisms.

Going on an Orbital kick: Blue album now, Octane soundtrack and Middle of Nowhere on deck. Unholy carp, they have Funky Alternatives vols 4-8 on here...might have to put that on after hours when I'm done working...

Awesome, Knucks.

The important thing is that the BHSE is heavy enough to be an impediment if placed on top of the zombie, especially if the points go through whatever (clothes, flap of flesh, entrails) to the floor, but I didn't think about that until after I posted.

I'd be curious what swapping in a SSD into a regular laptop would do for battery life. Are there any other differences between Ultrabooks and Laptops? I have no advice, but I am interested in your results.

They're hardly long enough to do anything but hurt, which means they can be used against us more than against the zombies.

Planet P Project, Pink World -- I think this might be my favouritest "deep catalog"/lesser-known album of all time. I even love the "very 80's" production. It's basically Tony Carey gone crazy in a studio. He does everything -- lots of Eventide vocal processing, etc. Drums, guitars, synthesizers, it's all him. EDIT: And yet, it's some strong-ass songwriting. Groovy, powerful, he might have bitten off too much -- he tackles cults/religions, politics, big-brother monitoring, nukes, ecology (remember when we called it that), horror, and ties it all together in a story. I would love to see this rendered into a movie. So this boy becomes a provider and protector during the end days, but one has to declare fealty to him in order to be welcome in "the zone" -- a place behind a force field to protect one from nuclear radiation. "It's such a comfort when he knows what you think Oh yeah It's a little like Santa Claus faded to pink Oh yeah..." So fucking brilliant. I especially love that sequence from "This Perfect Place"/"What Artie Knows"/"In the Zone"/"Behind the Barrier Pt. 2"/March of the Artemites"/"This Perfect Place Pt. 2".

I don't know why you thought it was 'pretty good', it seems kind of 'meh' to me -- especially considering Denver is one of the highest in the country. Pun intended, but I did mean bandwidth. -
Favorite Music Lyrics (Read the Fucking Rules You Damn Philistines)

"In a little nowhere town Way out deep in the woods Sits a little lonely factory Makin' household goods With a little nothin' river Flowin' by their back door You won't find any fishin' There ain't no fish in there no more..." Planet P Project, "To Live Forever", Pink World I especially like the way he slurs the syllables in that last line so that it sounds like he's singing, "There ain't no fission there no more..."
