I hate you. I barely use an average of 0.15 GB/month, even though I have unlimited, but that doesn't exist on VZW any more, so if I get a new phone legitimately (haven't ruled out the illegitimate problem), I definitely have to give up my unlimited data, and if I get a new phone, I will almost definitely get one that can do Spotify, so I'll probably go well higher, and that's without additional devices like an iPad or a Nexus 10 and/or tethering.

Wow, good call on looking into that. And to be clear, they really are the corresponding floor stander version, designed by the same guy, with the same curved non-boxy cabinet and driver complement. And with 3 woofers each. And having owned Pioneer for decades before I got into high-end audio, I kind of like Pioneer.

Nice use of mint green to make the sound seem antiseptic. The frequency plots look warm, however.

Wishing everyone luck, including myself. I'll be realistic -- here's to hoping that the power outages and wind damage is minimal. Mostly, no broken windows or water leakage. I'm going to go to bed early (for me) tonight, in hopes of getting to a more-or-less daylight schedule by the time the power outage is only a day or two old.

To answer my own question, I took this advice, and the answer is yes. You can configure a variety of mixdown options just by turning certain speakers off, as well as the ability to change 'size' and distance. So yes, it seems to be a fully functional pre-pro, other than the lack of analog inputs.

I bet if you just got enough powered speakers and set them up in a circle and closed your eyes, it'd be close enough.
