  1. Not that you're taking a poll, but I think it should be gunmetal with black knobs. That reminds me of a joke that Steven Tyler made while on camera with Joan Rivers some time in the 90's. Do you know what the difference between pink and purple is? The grip.
  2. Really? 'cause: "pennies". Also: really? Just a $100 Ikea amp? Where the hell is the disdain and rejection from team overkill? Obviously it needs to be a magnetically isolated sandbox with gyroscopic correction mechanisms.
  3. Going on an Orbital kick: Blue album now, Octane soundtrack and Middle of Nowhere on deck. Unholy carp, they have Funky Alternatives vols 4-8 on here...might have to put that on after hours when I'm done working...
  4. Awesome, Knucks.
  5. The important thing is that the BHSE is heavy enough to be an impediment if placed on top of the zombie, especially if the points go through whatever (clothes, flap of flesh, entrails) to the floor, but I didn't think about that until after I posted.
  6. I'd be curious what swapping in a SSD into a regular laptop would do for battery life. Are there any other differences between Ultrabooks and Laptops? I have no advice, but I am interested in your results.
  7. They're hardly long enough to do anything but hurt, which means they can be used against us more than against the zombies.
  8. Planet P Project, Pink World -- I think this might be my favouritest "deep catalog"/lesser-known album of all time. I even love the "very 80's" production. It's basically Tony Carey gone crazy in a studio. He does everything -- lots of Eventide vocal processing, etc. Drums, guitars, synthesizers, it's all him. EDIT: And yet, it's some strong-ass songwriting. Groovy, powerful, he might have bitten off too much -- he tackles cults/religions, politics, big-brother monitoring, nukes, ecology (remember when we called it that), horror, and ties it all together in a story. I would love to see this rendered into a movie. So this boy becomes a provider and protector during the end days, but one has to declare fealty to him in order to be welcome in "the zone" -- a place behind a force field to protect one from nuclear radiation. "It's such a comfort when he knows what you think Oh yeah It's a little like Santa Claus faded to pink Oh yeah..." So fucking brilliant. I especially love that sequence from "This Perfect Place"/"What Artie Knows"/"In the Zone"/"Behind the Barrier Pt. 2"/March of the Artemites"/"This Perfect Place Pt. 2".
  9. I don't know why you thought it was 'pretty good', it seems kind of 'meh' to me -- especially considering Denver is one of the highest in the country. Pun intended, but I did mean bandwidth.
  10. "In a little nowhere town Way out deep in the woods Sits a little lonely factory Makin' household goods With a little nothin' river Flowin' by their back door You won't find any fishin' There ain't no fish in there no more..." Planet P Project, "To Live Forever", Pink World I especially like the way he slurs the syllables in that last line so that it sounds like he's singing, "There ain't no fission there no more..."
  11. Also: Hometaping is Dead print and DJ print (I actually want everything on this page but don't really need any more prints to put up in my apartment.)
  12. Gazelle Twin, The Entire City
  13. It will have a purple tint to it if you have purple things around for it to reflect.
  14. And somewhere along the line, Katie Melua released a new album.
  15. Regina Spektor was wonderful. She played every song I wanted her to, and I was surprised how much I wanted to hear "Ballad of a Politician" -- I actually know more words to that song than to any other. I actually breathed a sigh of relief after that song -- the rest of the concert was just gravy, but was no less enjoyable for it. Also: Random Audience Member #1: "I love you!" Random Audience Member #2 from clear across the other side of the auditorium: "I love you more!" Regina: "I love you, Baltimore!" Everyone, together: (groan) Also: Random Audience Member #3: (something, incomprehensible) Regina: "What?" Seriously, she asked the random shouting audience member to repeat themselves.
  16. They play tomorrow. No way I'm going to be able to make it.
  17. Is it wrong that I want to put the head of Vinyl Pop Catwoman on Big Prominent Booty Catwoman? I have to admit, this was a question in my mind as well. I mean other than introducing a small taste of cotton, which can't be too bad, what's the problem? Or perhaps it was the water, and not the towel.
  18. I am interest.
  19. Agreed, I doubt it had anything to do with being a mathematician. You're safe. That said, it's always sad to hear about those things.
  20. I know you're on Facebook, but are you on Spotify? I skipped that one today, went straight to King of Limbs, and then just let it go from there. It's almost like you're filling in for me. Was listening to The Gathering in the car.
  21. I haven't heard it (the DL3), but from what I've heard of the HRT Music Streamer II+, that's what I'm getting. One of my probable solutions to my portable speaker problem is the Pro (which does balanced) and a pair of small studio monitors (which oftentimes only have balanced inputs).
  22. Except they don't have magnum in the non-lubricated.
  23. (squints)
  24. We can tell.
  25. It's true, I've tried it, I couldn't tell the difference. The fish was a nice touch.
