See, this is why Hollywood will win those arguments every single time. The arguments go something like this: Nitpicker: But that couldn't possibly happen that way....<science>... Hollywood-mogul-or-speedbump: Who cares? It'll make for good cinema... Still -- I love reading shit like that, thanks for the link, you have now rendered my entire evening a waste of time.

Oh, that's so awesome -- they gave him a little pigeon peg-leg and then -- after he died -- had a taxidermist mount and stuff him. Or "...stuff and mount him". I'm never sure of the order of these things.

That's actually one of my more favorite Arnie movies, though I have to admit, I don't know why. There were a couple times that it came on cable, I ended up getting stuck in it all over again.

Interesting choice for the condition, I might have gone with '(!life)', myself. And now I want a cupcake.

The little big one hand points at the hour, and sort of the fraction of the hour.

What did you do today?
It's mostly just him on guitar with supporting musicians playing all other parts, with him "conducting": YouTube - Mike Oldfield Man In the rain Still -- wish he would tour the states. Vangelis is a little harder -- he hardly ever plays live any more. The last one (I think) was Mythodea -- him playing keyboards and "conducting": Nothing like the spectacle of JMJ (I have several of his live DVD's). But still -- the three of them are probably 3 of the 4 most influential musicians on me, musically, and I've seen Wakeman.

Thanks for bumping this thread. I found my watch, the Oris Oscar Peterson Jazz Series: Yes, those are meant to look like keyboard keys around the outer rim. Yes, that is meant to look like a record groove towards the center. So 'me', it hurts. C'mon, man, that's a skull. Skulls are the shit. Plus, the hands look like a sword and dagger. Coolest fucking watch evar.

So is that almost like an iPad dock?

What are you EATING right now?
No. Some veggie burgers are actually good. As long as it doesn't taste like bird seed, I can be pretty easy to satisfy. There was a time in high school that I got to craving -- yes, craving -- those soy-filler-burgers that they made in the cafeteria. I still don't know where to get such a thing. As in, on purpose.

Ye Macce Threade
That's true -- that's probably half the weight right there. EDIT: Oh, I remember -- because you might actually want the data. Other than that, no reason.

Ye Macce Threade
Don't you have a door that it could hold open or something? I mean, I can't even suggest installing linux on that thing. Also, if it's just the motherboard that's fried, you could at least take out the disk drive, and put it in an external 2.5 enclosure.

Beyer T1
Would it? Back before I discovered forums (I believe the years still began with "In the year of our lord, nineteen-hundred and..."), I never paid a lot of attention to the ramblings of laypeople, I only cared if it appeared to be a full-on legitimate review, like Stereophile, Bound for Sound, and whatnot. Also, different things mean different things to different people -- while $1000 may be the interesting threshold to you and me, it may be a drop in the bucket for someone else, or...maybe not a drop in the bucket, but they only wanted the best/most expensivest/most exclusive headphone/speakers/etc.

If it's still in that state this weekend, I'll come over and help. (The receiver, not the laundry.)

Audio Furniture Recommendation
Billy Bags -- I'm a huge fan of the industrial cross-brace esthetic. Otherwise, go flexy. (Or is it spelled, 'flexi'?)

Centrance DACport -- usb-powered dac/amp
How could I remember (I don't read head-fi)?

Centrance DACport -- usb-powered dac/amp
...which is funny, because I'm using the June issue as a bookmark into SoundOnSound (size is perfect). I guess I don't read Stereophile as much as I thought I did. Um...yeah, if anyone does have the May issue handy, I wouldn't mind if they see if JA verified that jitter figure.

Centrance DACport -- usb-powered dac/amp
Just read about this in SoundOnSound magazine -- another entry into the portable USB DAC/amp category. Of interest: extremely small USB-powered very simple (USB port on one end, headphone jack on the other, volume knob) company provides technology to the likes of Benchmark, et al targeted at professionals (and probably "prosumers") "seriously low" jitter figure via reclocking (1 picosecond) $400 It's that second-to-last one that caught my attention (no, Colin, I still haven't read that article you linked for me).

What did you do today?
I made the following joke on another forum (crf2 -- it may interest you if you're into classic rock -- feel free to tell them I sent you), after a particular large batch of classic rockers died -- that's the danger of being a fan of classic rock. Jean-Michel Jarre?!?!? One of my concerts that I must see before I die (or he dies). Wouldn't mind Vangelis and/or Mike Oldfield, neither, myself.
