there aren't any details about that. I fully expect it to work without a phone in range, just many features won't work, like the phone and gps stuff.

I skipped the 5 until my 4S broke, and I'll probably skip the 6 until I'm forced to switch or the next generation. I'm looking forward to IOS 8, and I'm tempted by the watch. I still want a smaller phone than the 5, not a bigger one.
