  1. It kind of sucks Also some bits and pieces from Mouser.
  2. Nothing as long as you electrically isolate the MOSFET from the heat sink. No different than having a off board heat sink that is part of the chassis.
  3. Happy birthday. Don't drink as much as I did. Or do
  4. Shoot me a PM with your paypal (I think I have it already) and how much I owe.
  5. You can desolder the pins with a vacuum station. Not so much with wick or a hand sucker. Do we have final (or close to it) dimensions on the amp boards? What about power figures on the them? If we had both then we could start looking into what size case and heat sinks we really need.
  6. Thanks. I plan on spending the day lounging around the house in my tighty whities with a bottle of Old Crow and a pack of Swishers
  7. I have not heard the metal SS drivers, but I really like the revs. If you want to try a metal-ish speaker take a look at the ATD Hypergraph Ti. Great speaker but not cheap. I do agree that the Vifa is a great little speaker especially considering the price compared to it's SS brothers. But I still love the 7100/7000/6600 and plan to use them at some point in the future for a cost no object speaker. I have heard good things about the HDS and have been meaning to pick up a pair but I just have not got around to it.
  8. Scanspeak 15W Revelators Vifa XT25 tweeters
  9. For PCBs I have used Advanced Circuits. They have a pretty good deal on proto boards for $33 each with a min order of 4 that comes with another for free. $132+shipping for 5 boards. https://www.33each.com/!33each1.asp
  10. I just looked up the price for the panels I used for my B22 and it was $92 and that included the material and engraving for lettering. That's with a purchase of 10-19 of each panel. So I think the price will be similar with the advantage of FPE in that we know we can get lettering and it's of know quality (not saying he would do a bad job). I think CamXpert (Nate?) might also be another option. We would also need the heatsinks/angle mounts machined or drilled and tapped.
  11. So I am reading the machining cost at $31.5 per person? Who is going to do the all the layouts for heat sink holes/board mounting/front panel/back panel? I also think most people would want some sort of lettering on the front/back panels be it engraved or laser etched. I also think that if j4cbo is going to be designing the super I/O board it should have PCB mounted connectors and the back panel to match.
  12. If this is really the case and we are going with a one case design (or even a two for that matter.) I think we would be better off spending a little more for something that isn't going to cause problems down the road.
  13. How many here have Jailbroken their phone? With a little push from Sherwood I did mine last weekend and so far do good. It really opens the door on customizing it and adding features it would not normally have.
  14. Yeah I need to update those #s
  15. Looks good to me. With the exception of current monitoring all that could be done with Femto/AC1/JT/e24.
  16. As far as what case we are going to use I think we need to wait till boards are finalized so we know their size and also know everything else we plan to fit in the case. As for I/O what do people want? I was thinking for the back: SE/balanced inputs, maybe a loop out for each, SE/balanced preamp outs. Speaker if you think it's up to the task. Now do we want to use something like the e24 for switching power on/off with a nice lighted switch on the front? Matching switches for switching inputs and outputs? Single 4 pin XLR on the front or dual 3s? Or both. Two SE jacks or one? As for the connectors I was thinking Neutrik for the XLRs and Cardas (OEM price) for the RCA and speaker (if we have it). Or if you guys are feeling froggy WBT but they have a minimum order to get the good OEM pricing. Also what about volume pot? Dact? TP Joshua tree if they are available? If TP had the JT and Femto available we could make it with a nice display and have remote control.
  17. I think you might be right. Looks like about $75 for each transformer. Maybe less since we would be buying in bulk. Hmm....OEM purchase me thinks.
  18. If we are going the SMD route it might be worth while to get the paste stencil and have who ever wants the task to do all the SMD parts. As far as I/O what do you think would be good? Also should we look into converting the SE input into balanced? I also have no problem with a single case design as long as we get a good trafo.
  19. I think this was mentioned before but how about a larger output pad?
  20. If you have one of these The σ22 Regulated Power Supply you are covered.
  21. I think this would be a good way to go and would not add that much to the final cost. Most expensive parts would be the cannon plugs/jacks.
  22. Fuck me sideways! I didn't know that either:palm: I might like these after all.
