  1. More importantly, which one is going on the sale block?

Officially things will wrap up about 3:00 PMish on Sunday so that vendors and members have time to dismantle everything by 5:00 PM. No problem. I have it on good authority that that particular member knows where Ray lives and could certainly make a friendly visit.
  3. Since the Dac-Magic is essentially the same Dac as in the 740C I cannot see any reason to buy and use it over your CDP. I do not know if the output stage is different but I would be surprised if the Dac Magic had a better output stage than the 740c.

Ill be there from Wednesday on if not earlier. I'm always up for eating, drinking and carousing.

I was actually thinking of someone else, but Ray would work.

Or you could just ship it ahead of time to a supremely trustworthy member.
  7. ^^^Heh, I like that. The difference between being proactive versus reactive, between being a leader or a sheep. Nice
  8. It is not listed as such under specifications but is listed like that on other units such as the Mac Mini, MacBook Pro, etc. So I doubt it is a dual headphone/optical out.
  9. Every so often when I use standby (about 1:20) my netbook will not come out of standby and requires a hard boot. I have never had a windows based machine that did not have that problem. My touch has always been there when I want it. I do not use a MacBook so that may be part of my problem.
  10. You digital bastard! Nice choice. It keeps floating back up to the top of my short list for this year also.
  11. OK. After really looking at the specs and the reasons for the "limitations" and engineering decisions there really is some serious pixie dust in this thing. Some of which will obviously not be available until they announce iphone/itouch/ipad OS 4.0. This is what I need my netbook to be. I'm glad that it is a big Touch. The immediate startup is huge if you are going to use it as an off-and-on companion device on a day-to-day basis. I would be using my netbook more often if I didn't have to constantly wait for it to boot up (Sorry but "sleep" mode too often becomes dead-to the-world mode to be useful). Definitely going to get a 3G model, either 32 or 64gb and the VNC app. This will be the most useful computing device for me in a while especially when MS gets around to developing MS office ipad edition
  12. Yep, Al beat me to it but it is a Dr. Wood stand. As with all his creations the detail is marvelous and my piddling photographic skills do not do it justice.
  13. Hmm, Looks like Cupertino was hit hard by the pixie dust shortage.
  14. Yep, AT&T is pure fail for me. I will definitely be holding off until there is another carrier and until I can actually see how the iphone integrates with this.
  15. I guess dolphins like pixie dust.
  16. Pffft, It can simultaneously drive an O2, K701, K340, K1000, make toast and have a unicorn deliver a pizza sprinkled with pixie dust and that is all before you turn it on.

You know, that Krell headphone amp is pretty small and should fit in your carry-on with no problem.
  18. This is what you need. Pure Win.

If you need double rooms I would try booking again soon as you can always cancel your earlier reservations. I would do it in that order though.
  20. Or not hearing as the case may be.
  21. For my POS Dish DVR which keeps overheating for no apparent reason
  22. That does seem logical, but then again we are dealing with Apple.
  23. Yes indeedy do. I agree, I do not really want a plan as this will be used at home and at the University 95% of the time and so it will be connected via Wi-Fi. No Wi-Fi = No-Go for me also.
  24. If the apps are priced competatively I would certainly pay that price for a Touch with a bigger screen. The thing I miss most on my netbook are my touch applications.
