OK. After really looking at the specs and the reasons for the "limitations" and engineering decisions there really is some serious pixie dust in this thing. Some of which will obviously not be available until they announce iphone/itouch/ipad OS 4.0. This is what I need my netbook to be. I'm glad that it is a big Touch. The immediate startup is huge if you are going to use it as an off-and-on companion device on a day-to-day basis. I would be using my netbook more often if I didn't have to constantly wait for it to boot up (Sorry but "sleep" mode too often becomes dead-to the-world mode to be useful). Definitely going to get a 3G model, either 32 or 64gb and the VNC app. This will be the most useful computing device for me in a while especially when MS gets around to developing MS office ipad edition

If the apps are priced competatively I would certainly pay that price for a Touch with a bigger screen. The thing I miss most on my netbook are my touch applications.

What can I say, I'm used to dealing with editors of scientific journals. I do not think the longer quote tells a different story, just makes it clearer for those who may not have Einstein's imagination. I actually like the shorter quote because it lets the reader fill in the next part for themselves. However, if I used this signature in other places I would probably use the longer quote. I do agree with you that there does appear to be something being added to the signal and the channel imbalance does definitely seem to be a flaw not a feature. It also may be that people do not think that every set of impressions requires a laundry list of what gear you have, what gear you want, why you cannot purchase it and random Blutarskyisms.

You may want to read the measurements and Koch's response before you lump him in with the snake oil boys. He does have a little experience in digital audio. What he said, at least to me, makes theoretical sense. If you optimize your algorithm for the reproduction of acoustic signals that are a complex mixture of tones and then measure with a single pure signal you may not be measuring it properly. However, I do not see how that explains the specific measurement anomalies that JA found in this case. That could also be because I do not have Koch's expertise in the field or it could be because he has a vested interest in the product, or both. That is why I found his response interesting.
