OK just a room update as the system seems to be at least temporarily in order. Our room block for the 4th and 5th is 125 rooms each night. We currently have 36 rooms booked the 4th and 35 the 5th. There are no (none, zilch) double rooms available on the 4th, only king rooms available. We had to guarantee 200 room/nights and right now we are at 100 and have not even started member registration yet, so I am a happy man and will celebrate with some GTS tonight!

Sorry for the belated birthday wishes my man. We should catch a meal at Three Floyd's soon as I have never been there.

Probably what they were told, but not exactly the "whole" truth. Alissa was there today and took things up with the reservations manager. She was pretty appalled by Al's description of what he had to do to get a room. Hopefully, this fix sticks for more than 24 hours. The whole double versus king issue is separate. Our block contains mostly king as most of the rooms in the hotel are kings. There is an option for a rollaway bed if you are stuck with a King room and need a double to help maintain your virginity.

Have a call and an email (detailing Al's information: Thanks Al) in to our rep. Unfortunately, Alissa sounded pretty bad yesterday when I talked to her so she may be home today.

They are good enough and different enough from the MS-Pro's to keep. The HF-1's on the other hand .... I think they need to be woodified.

OK, the early and late dates is just another screw-up so that should be resolved shortly. I just got off the phone and I had our rep. check on the available rooms. Every night looks fine except for the 4th. The hotel says they only have about 100 rooms left for that night, so a heads up there for getting your reservations in earlier rather than later. The King bed issue is a little stickier as it is based upon their definition of a single occupancy room. Most of our reserved rooms are reserved as single occupancy and thus are kings. If you have specific issues we can probably get them worked out with our rep so let me know. So Marc if you need me to get our rep to check on this for you you can PM or email me the specifics. Also, keep posting here if you have any issues as above so we can get them resolved as quickly as possible.

You are correct. I have a call in about both issues and will let you know when I hear anything.

There seems to be some issues if you want a double room versus a King room. I'm not sure what it is so I will call and find out. If you are reserving over the web, use our dedicated link: http://ohare.hyatt.com/groupbooking/chirohead2010 If you want to use the telephone, call the Hyatt Regency O'Hare directly at (847) 696-1234 That's the way I would do it. You will have separate confirmation numbers so it should not be an issue. If you are wanting a double room you may want to wait until I get some more information on that.

Interestingly, I just downloaded the demo for THIS yesterday. Haven't even installed it yet but it looked interesting. I'm not sure if it is exactly what you are looking for but it looked pretty flexible.

The best thing may be to call the hotel directly. Because of the time difference, PM me the dates you are interested in and what room type you are interested in and I will check into it for you. There is an option for a rollaway bed also. Same advice as above. Call the hotel directly and have them modify it for you. Call during normal business hours so that if the person on duty is clueless you can ask to speak with Alissa Robinson. She is our designated representative and should be able to handle it. If worse comes to worse you can simply cancel and start from scratch. I see no problem with our room block filling up any time soon.

Check in is fixed. I used the web portal in post #1 on the HF thread to book my room with check-in on Wednesday and Check-out on Sunday and received the discounted room rate for all nights. It does appear we may be limited to King only rooms but you can request a roll-away bed. If you really need/want two double beds I would suggest calling the hotel directly and mention you are with the Head-Fi group. If anybody needs additional help changing any already booked reservations, let me know.

Al hit the nail on the head. By my last count we weren't even 1/3 of the way to the # of room nights we have to guarantee them so it is a definite screw up. I would suggest everyone just put it on hold for right now as I will talk to our representative tomorrow. I will update this thread and also send out PM's to anyone who contacted me that way once it is resolved. Since none of the local committee have reserved their rooms yet we will get it resolved

Nope, not normal. Something is definitely amiss as we have it in our contract that HF pricing extends three days before (Tuesday Night 6/1) and three days after (Tuesday Night 6/8) so I will be letting them know. Did anyone try calling and have problems or was this all via Da Web?

I will check into the Thursday issue. We should be nowhere near selling out unless there was a huge New Years rush on the rooms. If anyone else has/had rate issues send me a PM and I will get it straightened out.
