I've never had a chance to swap just the turntable before, while keeping everything else the same. It's pretty mind-blowing how much of a difference there is in the sound of the two.

Roughly set up the new OL turntable and just now giving it a first spin. Initial impression -- BIG dynamics compared to the Gyro.

You can get a Sony XA-5400ES for under $1,000 used and not much more than that new, if you scout around. It is an excellent player.

Take this for what it's worth Baggers, but I thought the Luxman I heard (509, IIRC) with the P3s was almost too much of a good thing. Sprinkling sugar on top of honey, or something like that. -
