If they ship me the same wrong thing twice I'll be pressing hard for the similar product solution. I mean, I'd happily accept a DS412 if they're having trouble finding a 508.
I currently have one of their workstands and use it for general duty as a rack too. This one will allow safe storage of the MTB or road bike while one or the other is occupying the workstand instead of simply leaning against the wall.

Pretty cheap. I'm ordering one today.
Sorry to hear that your still injured, Shelly. That sucks.
I got an email from Newegg last night that said the following:
I called the CS contact that I was given and they stated that as soon as the incorrect item was returned (with the prepaid label they provided) that they would overnight me the correct Synology DS-508. So I'm hopeful that the second time will be the charm.
The DS508 is listed as back in stock on Newegg and the price is still the same...

Limit was one per customer, Pak.
And Newegg just contacted me saying it was an inventory mistake but if I wanted the Synology they'd overnight me one once the defective shipment was returned. I said yes, that'd be fine so there's still a chance...
Called NewEgg. Package is being RMA'd and it'll take at least a week to get my $$ back and it's highly likely that the 3rd party that fulfilled the order is a fuck up.
mine is supposed to be at home so I'll confirm when I get there in 20 minutes.
Really glad I didn't buy any HDs... flat package here too. Fuuuuuuuuu...
As Ric said, I wouldn't buy anything older than a 2nd gen iPad at this point. My 2G stutters pretty badly on some stuff as it is, I can't imagine what an OG would be like.
No reason that I can think of, Dinny. If the Drobo gives you enough space and you don't mind it being tethered to a machine you should be all set. What I want is a storage solution that's not attached to anything other than the router and allows me to stream media to the PS3 and other devices around the house. I kind of have that now with a 2-bay unit that I bought a month ago but 5 bays is better than 2 bays and all that...
