My friend Marc convinced me that it'd be a good idea to do 20 today, despite the temps and winds. For me that meant 35 since I rode up to meet him rather than drive. The temp reading on the Garmin is way high, so I included the local weather graphic from Garmin's site which is much more accurate (temps in the high 20s, wind chill in the mid teens). Other than frozen toes it was a great ride.

Go to court, Vicki, that's your only option to protest it. If you've got a clean record it'll get tossed more than likely.

So the band on my Suunto Core is breaking and rather than replace it with another rubber strap I'm wondering what some other good alternatives might be? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I'm thinking fabric, not leather.

Yup, there's more white BS in the forecast for Tuesday morning here as well. We're definitely getting melting though as a significant amount of the ground cover disappeared this week so at least we're trending better than you.

I'm going to have to look into it. But I think the warranty on these things is something absurd like 90 days.

evidently I spoke too soon. Even after doing the resets and also making sure that all of the case screws were tight still getting really crappy GPS reception. The signal to noise ratio does seem a lot worse than they were 3 to 4 months ago, which is really weird. More than anything it's insanely frustrating.

the exact same thing just happened to me, Doug. It is weird because they used to be great about getting an order out on the same day if I got it in before the middle of the afternoon. This time it took at least 2 days and then like you said they upgraded me to 2 day shipping. It's still man that my stuff got there 2 days later than it should have.

The weather seems to be turning up here with daytime temps now getting into the mid 40s and snow disappearing at an alarmingly outstanding rate (other than the ski tickets I still have to use). I've tentatively got a ride planned with a friend this Sunday and will hopefully get in 30 or 40. And V, 7% is a very steep hill to ride in the prolonged sense. Some of the worst climbs I rode last year were of that magnitude and it's not something I would want to train on. I think you can get plenty strong riding longer, shallower pitches and as Chris said put much less stress on your joints.

So, speaking of the S3, Google or Verizon updated it sometime in the last 3 months and basically rendered the GPS utterly useless. I've searched on the topic and I'm not alone, in fact it seems like most if not everyone is affected to some degree. My phone basically no longer will lock onto a GPS signal with enough reliability to navigate. It's so inaccurate that it constantly reroutes while I'm driving down a straight road as it bounces around the +/- 100' sphere of where it thinks I am approximately. The best I've been able to do is turn off everything but true GPS (turn off both Verizon and Google location services) which works OK, but is obviously not the way that it is intended to be used. Anyone have any bright thoughts on this? Other than to buy a different phone... I'm insanely frustrated since the reason that I got rid of my last phone was horrid GPS. The S3 was outstanding in this regard, at least in the beginning.
