  1. A replacement torque wrench after my premium "made in USA" Park Tools one failed on the first use. The retaining ball bearing popped straight out. Now I just want to return the replacement and buy something else but I'll have to pay shipping I would guess.

  14. Nice. I try and do a 40 miler over the weekend and 2-3 20-25mile rides during the week. That's about all my schedule will let me do. I'm hoping to get my speed up so the time stays the same but the mileage goes up Long term I'd like to get good enough to make it to like a Cat 3 amateur racer but who knows if I have the legs.
  15. Watch out Vince Vaughn already has a huge head!
  16. I have a Trek 1200 for my rain bike. Though I need to get it adjusted to match my new bikes geometry so I haven't actually ridden it in the rain but instead took my good bike out

  20. Congratulations! That's one cute puppy and he's going to be an amazing looking dog. As far as bringing them together my experience lies along the lines of Aimless1 with the let them figure it out. In general though the older dog will assert and the puppy will take it and get used to it. It was always funny (to me) to watch our older 15lb dachshund growl at two 100lb German shepherd/ridgeback mixes and watch the big guys scurry/wimper when someone had the temerity to go after her food. Puppies do have a memory though, one of our dogs got smacked bad by our cat when he was a puppy and had it in for that cat as soon as he was bigger for the rest of his life, not other cats just that cat.
  21. QFT. Just to muddy the waters a bit: I was talking with one of the Smyth brothers about why they used 24bit and it appears that at least in the movies where things have a bit more dynamic range (ie the explosions are 120db while the conversation can be at 40-60db) that 16bit could mean that the noise floor was audible when the volume was set for the conversation and that's why it's useful there. Not saying that this applies to music where the real dynamic range is generally a lot smaller but it was an interesting point. As far as resampling from 96-44.1 if it's done right there is lots of evidence that it's inaudible too but compared to dithering from 24-16bit the there is even more crap to mess up and A LOT of programs do it horribly, even ones that you would expect not to like Adobe. Apparently both Apple and Microsoft took this rather seriously the last go around and the built in re-samplers are pretty good if not very good (at least that's my understanding). At least in the windows case for XP the resampler and was a hot mess.
  22. A cover for the bikes when on my trunk mounted rack. Hopefully it will keep the road debris away from my precious until of course I drive it into a pot hole and break something very expensive..... Got mine here: http://www.skinzprotectivegear.com/bicycleproduct/reartransportcovers.html
  23. Sorry to hear about your bad luck Vicki that majorly sucks.
