  1. Happy birthday to you both!
  2. Wasn't I clear that I was selling you a PICTURE of them..... Just kidding. I look forward to hearing whatever amp you work up for them.
  3. Oh I know....
  4. Got my teeth cleaned by the dentist
  5. I am. I'm not trying to hear them Power meter FTW.
  6. Not until I hear them and luckily I haven't heard them yet.
  7. I was thinking the same thing.... I will resist, I will resist....
  8. Sorry to hear about the lack of improvement. Hope the trip to the doc goes ok and it's nothing permanent or too serious.
  9. Get better Al. I hope you're feeling better already.
  10. Interesting observation justin. ***** WARNING: Wild conjecture ******** Is it really that fewer are moving up (i.e. are your salee numbers (not % of revenue) for home stuff down) or that more people are just buying portable rigs and being "done"? I would guess the number of people spending on home rigs is about the same or growing but there have been a lot of people that have entered the market that are only interested in portable so the market share for home stuff is down a lot but the number of units sold is not necessarily down. Of course this is all a wild ass guess and I don't have anything to back it up.
  11. ^ you make my KGSS and O2 sad when you survive the impulse to buy them but then buy other stuff.
  12. The casework. After visiting their site the urge passed entirely
  13. I bought a 8ft fence to hide the giant wall in my back yard. Looks nice. Will look nicer once we have some hanging baskets on it. This landscaping has spiraled a bit out of control but it should finish up this week. Also bought some GFI outlets for my out of code kitchen, need 2 more. Also arranged to have my Zipp 404 wheels on my bike replaced with the "Clydesdale" version of the same wheel. This is beefed up for giant fatties like me. May not cost me anything because it is an exchange, here's hoping. Last thing I need to do is snap a pair of $2300 carbon fiber wheels. Oh and drugs to hopfully tame some inflammation in my inner ear and get rid of my tinnitus. On the plus side my hearing test came back "normal" though there was some slight fall off in the highs.
  14. I guess I'm not entirely "over audio". That one made me drool.....
  15. congrats al!
  16. The Flaming Lips - Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots
  17. ^ good point. My impressions are based on HD650s and Denon D5000s mostly. I also had balanced Qualias and SA5000s but did no real balanced vs unbalanced on those.
  18. Happy Birthday!
  19. That is sad that the conditions are so poor. It's great that your sister puts in the time and effort to help. I made a donation I hope it helps a few of them find a good home.
  20. I'm not sure I can really comment one way or another on this as at least with the GS-X my experience in actual listening is that the balanced drive really didn't make a difference when properly volume matched. That said in doing some auditory tests I have proven to myself that there is less distortion with balanced drive and there certainly is a lower noise floor so I generally go that route (that and there is no reason to ever get rid of a GS-X ).
  21. Well I finally got to hear my HD800s balanced out of my GS-X today and it sounds truly amazing much like it did single ended. That said I was really impressed by the BUDA amp + HD800s at CJ. I think everyone stating it's a no-lose is pretty much on the money.
  22. Well I apparently riled up something even lamer then.
  23. Tried out mobile.head-case.org and it works great. Thanks
  24. lead a team meeting and presented a presentation. Went to local urgent care about my earaches, got decongestant. Riled up Dusty's rabid mac fanboism.
