Damn you guys are making me jelous riding. I'm just working, eating, gaining weight, and then more working. I hope to get a ride or two in on the weekend but I have a lot of other shit to do as well.

Dusty I think he may be right though he does not seem to understand why. I believe that down facing subs are more omnidirectional so while the energy is reflected and creates the standing wave there is less energy to feed it and it is less noticeable. With side firing more energy is going towards the wall and is in phase so the resonance builds far more quickly. In my day to day the waves are water waves but the theory is the same.

Learning a lot on this thread. I am thinking of getting a Genelec DSP monitor setup with sub and their autocalibration suite. I would start with sub and stereo then add other channels later. I guess I want 8250A for mains. Big enough?

Almost lost a finger in an icemaker. Do not ever check to see if there is ice in the tray. Thank God that other people were nearby that could unplug the fridge. I had to take the icemaker apart to get it out.

I have those skewers and they are very nice functionally. In other news this weekend has basically convinced me that the Diabolical Double is out the window for this year. I have not had enough time to ride and prepare for either the DD or the century. 3 hours of driving to do a metric seems a bit extreme but I am thinking about it. I am probably going to sign up for the "Navy Federal Credit Union Armed Forces Cycling Challenge" ride in Crystal city to do it with a friend of mine. We'd be aiming for 5 laps in 3 hours (so I think that's 50 miles or so). Anyone want to join. It's a busy but fun ride.

I got in about 36 down at the lake. Got lost and had a great ride. I am home alone tomorrow so another ride in the morning.
