  1. As Jacob didn't show up with Banh Mis today, I was forced to find my own. It was delicious. Then I did my taxes, which was not delicious.

    For dress shoes I like my Alfred Sargents, Meermin, Loake 1880s, and Trickers best. Casual I mostly have been wearing a few things from Buttero, Margiela, Fiorentini+Baker, and Paul Smith. Definitely approve of Alden shell cordovan and Gaziano & Girling. Crappy, 11 4E sounds difficult, custom? What happens with 12 3E or something? Jeff, you should probably go buy about 25% of what Leffot sells next time you are in NYC.
  7. Work in Quincy, WA with a cool coworker of mine, then we went wine tasting at Cave B and had dinner there on the way back. I think we both agreed that the Petit Verdot and Cabernet Sauvignon were the best (both of us got a bottle of the 2009 Petit Verdot as well), and the pork belly and tiger shrimp over grits didn't suck.

  14. Duck confit and foie gras over a bed of baby bock choy drizzled in 18yr balsamic and foie juice, and a side of ligonberry jam. Yum.

  21. 0.5lb kobe burger, salt and pepper, 2 hours at 132F, 2.5 pieces of black forest bacon (started at 4, I ate the rest), grated comte and dorset red cheddar. Was pretty good.
  22. Indeed it wasn't. Dry aged ribeye from Whole Foods cooking right now. Man, I really love good steak.
