Push it through while insulated, then burn the insulation off? Actually, if it is really that bad, I would just replace it.

Audeze LCD-2
Got more important things to buy, like a car, eh Bryan? I hear you, moving is definitely going to delay me getting a pair of these, as nice as they look.

Dew eet! Heck of a deal, would have made it worth buying an LCD1.

Yeah, good timing. How do you and your GF feel about carrying a couch and other stuff up four flights of narrow stairs? Fun, eh?

Don't you love regulators which don't actually regulate?

Stepped att for 10$.
Could be dirty, could be DC. DC could cause a change in tube bias, messing other stuff up. You might want to measure the pot, see how the resistances look when it is turned all the way up.

Optimum online
Cool, I think I will go with the Optimum. $30 a month is pretty darn attractive, and I can still give the Boost package a shot if the normal is too slow or inconsistent for me, while still being cheaper and no ETF like fios. The various reviews I have seen about the Optimum internet service mainly complain about inconsistent speeds, mainly during prime time. This is almost certainly an issue of node saturation, so I have some worries about this in Hoboken, considering the population density, but I guess there is no real reason not to try it. I have used fios both where I live now, getting 26/21 on the basic package, and in Boston where I got more like 8/3.

Audeze LCD-2
This, also better graphing and more that 25db. That said, what is shown looks promising.

I am also quite surprised you are having channel imbalance with the RK27 turned up that high. Sounds like something wrong to me, either with the RK27 or elsewhere.

Audeze LCD-2
Glad it is out, but definitely more than I had hoped. At the initial mentioned price, I would have almost certainly given it a shot, but at nearly 50% more, I will need to wait until I hear it, and probably look for a used pair. Steve, any idea what they mean by wood care kit? Gotta keep the headphones oiled maybe?

Optimum online
Fios is a one year contract with ($180 I think) ETF to break, Optimum does not seem to. I do a reasonable amount of streaming, but not crazy.

Optimum online
Yeah, I love the fios we have here too. Benefits to the other are that it is about half the price, and I could take advantage of the comcast/time warner/cablevision wifi deal in Manhattan. Fios gets slightly higher ratings it seems, but I could even get the boost package on the Optimum (30/5mbps) for less than 15/5 fios.

Optimum online
I have no real interest in getting either landline phone or tv packages, just the internet. It definitely is a densely populated area though.
