Would you believe it, I can't find ANYTHING from Russian River here! Plus, no guns. Plenty of bladed things Cool, good to know. I definitely will keep it sharp, hacking away with a dull piece of metal is no fun at all! Today was a good day for buying stuff, the Droid Incredible I ordered finally showed up, after having been sent to my old billing address in Maryland, and two calls to get it rerouted to NYC. Also bought a bunch of shirts and pants on pretty good sales.

The Live Music Thread
This one. Wasnt as good as I was hoping, lot of technical problems, and not just electrical. Still was decent though.

Retro-Fi
I have quite a few (8 I think) headphones older than I, and my preference in dacs also leads towards the vintage, at least for the actual converter chips.

Nice Shelly, I just got one of these Victorinox RH Forschner 8" chef knives, just couldnt justify the extra with the amount of cooking I actually do.

Canjam 2010.
I dunno if I should be scared or not. Either way, I just bought my canjam ticket, so I guess I will find out, for better or for worse.

The Headcase Stax thread
Open it up, betting the driver has started to come unglued from the baffle.

Lodge 8" preseasoned skillet. Hefty, would do a number on someone's noggin.

The Cutlery Thread
I was looking at the 8" version of that knife specifically.

The Cutlery Thread
Anything a bit cheaper than the Tojiro that is still decent, and what size and profile is best for general kitchen duty if you are only gonna buy one? Looking at R H Forschner right now. Definitely less sexy than forged japanese steel, but I really just want something that can cut pretty well and not need to be sharpened all the time.

The Quad thread
Basically short the output of the bias supply to ground, to discharge any voltage stored in the capacitors. Do this with the power disconnected, obviously.

Happy birthday, Raffy & Jin!

What did you do today?
Found out that my umbrella was the only casualty of the move, though it got me to work dry enough this morning. Just got trashed coming home though, ended up tossing it, buying another cheap umbrella which also broke within 2 blocks of the store, so returned it and just ran the rest of the way home. Got utterly soaked, umbrella shopping online now.

Halide Design Bridge
Yes, it is phase locked, but follows the input clock much more slowly, so that only the overall frequency match, but it isnt a clone of that clock but rather a completely new clock with the exact same frequency. Here is a good page describing the design of a good secondary PLL for DAC clock regeneration.

Congrats Jin! When are you leaving?

Halide Design Bridge
Some PLLs are fine even with huge amounts of jitter, while others have very high intrinsic jitter. Bad PLL is bad, and all that.

Happy birthday, Pars!
Happy Birthday Chris!
