  1. What's the non-budget soundcard that produced such good sounding result?
  2. That video lacks nudity.
  3. Happy Birthday, Greg!!!
  4. Yup, that's how I see it, we don't have the information to know if this new ARS chip that would be implemented on the new iMac would be a transitional chip towards a more developed, affordable... one which would revolutionize personal home computing, or eventually a very good one outperforming current Intels. Or not, just a chip offering a better cost/effective more profitable option for Apple, which for being in "development" phase might be buggy and troublesome compared to the current Intel offerings that have been working on computers for more than a decade. Would Windows make something to compatibilize these new chips? Not that I'm using any Windows based apps on my Mac, but still compatibility is desirable. On the other hand I'm with Hi-Wire that the current iMac line is being outperformed by more affordable options mounting better and more energy and heat savvy options. An intermediate upgrade of the iMac line keeping Intel architecture with better performance/price graphics and more affordable SSD, perhaps more RAM, would be my preferred option. Again we lack the information.
  5. That's not that easy in Spain. While Apple has good presence and fair sales, there aren't many refurbished products available at Apple's web here. Purchasing at US store would have the extra expense of duties and taxes, the guys at customs are getting more avid and cleverer. Not sure I'd buy second hand a €2k Mac, but it'd be something to reconsider if the new iMac isn't of my liking.
  6. The issue for me is the lack of information. If the new 27" iMacs are going to be released by early 2021 and will be using Intel processors, I'd wait. But if they're going to sport the new Mac processors I might prefer sticking with a current Intel machine. I wouldn't like being a guinea pig for the new processors paying full Mac prices.
  7. Damn, to wait or not to wait, that is the question
  8. Rest in peace, Mr Holm. A great actor IMHO.
  9. I can see that technology, if implemented for better 3D accuracy, making into face/body recognition AI.
  10. Diana Ross - Diana (1980)
  11. Finally! All that page at the Stax thread will be removed as well? Unsure that's a fake monologue.
  12. Looks like Apple is going to release a new iMac The WWDC is going to be later this month as an online event. Would that explain that iMac orders as of today in Spain won't be delivered until early July? I'm kind of waiting.
  13. That text is pretty much in the line of the change of mind that Peter Speake-Marin took when he decided to start the Naked Watchmaker website and stopping making watches under his brand.
  14. Nice video. Would this guy be the same Naked Watchmaker? He'd be Peter Speake-Marin.
  15. RIP Bonnie.
  16. Rafiq Bhatia - Standards Vol.1 It's an EP released this year on Bandcamp. Cecile McLorin contributes to the second tune.
  17. Rick & Morty, 4th season.
  18. Mikhail Pletnev - Edvard Grieg: Lyric Pieces Not exactly the same edition, but same tracks from the original Melodiya recording of 1986, available on several streaming services.
  19. I've been watching a French TV show available on Netflix called "The Eddy". About a jazz club in Paris. Good music, interesting plot... They say it's a "mini series" but it's 8 episodes almost 1 hour long each.
  20. Yup, I watched the NPR's show yesterday. My favourite is her first album "Tomorrow is my Turn". Not sure I can make the live stream the 12th, thanks.
  21. Esperanza Spalding and Fred Hersch - Live at the Village Vanguard It's available only at Bandcamp through June, if purchased the profits go to the Jazz Foundation of America. I never heard Esperanza singing this good.
  22. I'm a big Rhiannon Giddens fan. I listened to this a few days ago, now again Looking at the health care personnel pics in that video I can't help thinking that it's been the same shit all the world around. Tough times, but as usual, only for some.
  23. I'd say that this Is not a lie. He's doing to the best of his ability
  24. Thanks for the replies. If grapevine is right it'd take more than 8 months a new iMac to be released, and if it's released it'd be a whole new architecture which might be good, or rather bad until refined. I don't do video editing, nor heavy images processing, although I might occasionally play some racing or flight simulator game which I haven't done in 10 years. Most of my computer use is light stuff in the streaming TV, text processing, audio processing, net surfing, filesharing... My plan is getting a 27" iMac with 6-core i5 3.7GHz (9th gen), 8GB (upgrading to 3rd party RAM would be considered), 1TB SSD, Radeon Pro 580X. I might consider upgrading the graphic card to VEGA or having the i9 installed, but I don't think any of those is worth the expense for me. As a matter of fact I'm assuming that such device would be a waste, so a much cheaper 8th gen processor with the lower Radeon Pro 570 would be equally good, but possibly more reliable for producing less heat. Any opinions and advice?
  25. RIP Jimmy. I read the news in a Spanish newspaper
