Beginning with Thanksgiving and ending with New Years, busy socially. Still waiting to hear from the chief social director to see if we have anything coming up for 12/4. I honestly never pay attention.

If I remember correctly it wasn't just snow - it was a full blown snow storm with all the nasty that entails. I also see to recall you made pretty good time ... with a Miata?

I'm pretty sure either date will work for me. Probably better if those in the Chicago metro area decide. I looked at the map, and even though booze was not involved, I'm pretty amazed you made a day trip to Michigan and back. Hat's off to you, sir Mike.

Mike, he says that temperature control is not an issue. Once you have the vents set temperature is constant unless there is a change in conditions, ie. the wind begins gusting or stops, then the vents would need to be adjusted.

Good suggestion. Apparently his problem is not getting enough air to get it started. After listening to the long explanation, he appears to have been slow to learn to leave the lid open when igniting it.

Just checked with my co-worker. Reminded me they love it and it's the best grilled food evar. All that aside, the only issue they have had is difficulty in getting it lit. I'm assuming it is operator error. Otherwise it has worked flawlessly. Apparently they discovered it because a deli they go to uses a big green egg to cook their pulled pork, which means it is getting hard commercial use. Apparently the deli has had theirs for about 8 years without issue. Theirs however gets light use, maybe a couple times a month in the summer.

My cubicle partner has one. Brags about how good it is all the time. Anything specific you would like to know?

Ditto. Assuming the date works then I'll be glad to chip in and share a room.

Reminds me of engineering. 4 geeks sitting around teaching themselves bridge ... no instruction and no supervision. What else are four geeks going to do on a Friday or Saturday night?

"Holy Crap, that would be awesome! I used to watch the Tchaik (!) competition on TV all the time, but haven't seen it for a while. Is it still broadcast? How cool would it be to see MPI on TV? Granted, it usually public TV, and not American Idol .... but still ." He is an accomplished violinist who just recently took up the instrument seriously. I hope our young friend chooses to take the challenge, and take it seriously. For the record, I give a shit!

That looks similar to the 4 shelf omni rack I have. If so, it's a nice rack.

Sorry for your loss Steve. Just as you were lucky to have Fred in your life, so too was Fred lucky to have you in his. Sounds like you found a beautiful resting place for him.

You just lived through a parent's worse nightmare, Brent. Scary. Just returned from the hospital. 85 yr old mother-in-law had surgery today ... double by pass and valve replacement. Good news! Heart is in good shape with no signs of either heart attack nor stroke. But her clogged artery was worse than they thought ... hard as a rock where it was mostly blocked. She's in post op now and we'll head back up later.

Hardest decisions I've ever made were when to put down my dear friends .. er ... dogs. I feel for you Steve but you'll make the right decision for Fred. Tears welled up just thinking about this. I'm looking over at Quest who turns 10 next month. Going to tear me apart when it's time. It's okay to have remorse and to grieve. You haven't truly known what love is until you've been owned by a dog.

Hope it smokes as nice as it looks. I had a pipe stage 25 years ago - preferred custom pipes at the time. Enjoy
