  1. This kind of comment is why Jim is in Florida and cancelled his NY trip.
  2. Happy birthday brother! Cheers!

Huh? Say it ain't so, Jim.
  4. Looks like a special effects prop finger! Actually, I totally agree that it is healing amazingly well. Good docs and good genes.

I was very successful at being hung over that Sunday. Definitely the worst of my life, before or since.

Good to hear, Jeff! It seems that Other Half starts can sales even earlier on Saturday morning so some of us idiots might be out there by 10:00am. People can catch up along the way for food and/or drink stops. Prime Meats sounds like a great second stop of the day, JP!
  7. Had a jointly prepared meal with Claire's sister and her GF who gave me the Deep Run Roots cookbook, written by the owner of the Chef & the Farmer restaurant. I made the cornpone, collard greens, creamed collard greens and pickled collard stems. Sister in law made Brussels sprouts, apple and pomegranate salad and glazed pork loin over rutabagas and pork belly. Claire made the pecan-chewy pie with chocolate gelato dessert. Great recipes and we marveled that the meal wasn't heavier.
  8. Happy birthday G-Man! Cheers!
  9. Have a mackin' birthday Dr. John! Cheers!
  10. Sorry for your loss, Chris. Does this make you the eldest?
  11. I had some help getting through the storm last night
  12. Power just back on after a couple hours without. A power line went down on our street and kept us in the dark and trapped here -- Frank the Tenant tried to leave and was turned back because PG&E was trying to fix the downed line up the street. Two more drainage clogs resolved after much overflowing. My roast chicken was finished in the Webber and dinner was by candle light. Hopefully we are set for the evening but who knows.
  13. Indeed
  14. Nothing arcy sparky, but I did just get a flash flood warning on my phone that the creek is at flood stage and rising. Not a risk to the house but it can create mobility issues.
  15. I mucked out the Mayberry Slough for the third time this week (at least). https://vimeo.com/198910178
  16. Parker Beam was a true gentleman. I met him at a liquor store and he signed Heritage bottles for me and Naaman, I believe. RIP Parker. And fuck ALS!

  18. I had a ball cap and raincoat hood on and just didn't realize how close it was. Not going to mess around with it anymore.
  19. Big rain/wind storm last night and today. Power out all morning then back on, only to lose phone/Internet /cable all afternoon until now. Hoping that it hangs on for a few more hours anyway. Two doors down the neighbors were not home and their power line from the pole across the street was draped onto their driveway. It was still connected at both ends but a large broken branch on their driveway must have brought it down. I called the power company to report it and rigged a warning sign to put at the front of their driveway. Oh, and I bumped my head into the wire while setting up the sign. Oops. No utility truck and no neighbors at last check. These same people had a very large tree crush their house a few years ago and it was only rebuilt as of about two years ago...

    Drive down on Friday, obviously.
  21. Where's the fun in that? I like the idea that this thread is our gingerbread house where the noobs can nibble until they prove themselves gluttons and we smoke them. Might have to clean up the thread each time a noob pie comes out of the oven...
  22. Ha! Did you have to look that up or do you actually remember it? You are dapper like Drake, though.
  23. Perry Mason of Turkey is on the case!
  24. I would be butt miffed too!
