Just dry vermouth is one way of making a dry manhattan although the Savoy still mixes in some sweet vermouth, although then you are in the Perfect Manhattan territory of equal parts sweet and dry.

The feeling persisted so I opened an Arctic Panzer Wolf with dinner. DAMN I love this beer! Hooking up the TV and HT speakers and seriously considering the FFF trifecta because a Dreadnaught is nicely chilled right now. Hopefully I won't fry the system or anything.

Tomorrow night we are seeing Joshua Redman and Brad Mehldau dueting, and Mikeymad will be joining Claire, Alden and me. Sunday night is Jim Hall Quartet celebrating his 80th birthday. Grahame and Joanne are joining Claire and me for that one, so it is a Head-Case SF Jazz weekend!

Well, I can't say I'm all that certain what is going on with my hip after seeing the doctor. She seemed pretty certain it was trochanteric bursitis but then switched to gluteal tendonitis, even though she wasn't certain that pain both in the groin and on the opposite side of the hip could be caused by the latter. She said that some anti-inflammatories would be the first step in either case. I guess I will see if this does anything, and it is going to really hamper moving into the house if this remodel is really done this week.
