All these good wishes are paying big dividends. I just visited my Miracle Mom this morning, and the improvement is truly remarkable. She is clear headed and conversant and was quite capable of independently standing up and even claimed she has gone to the bathroom herself. We chided her for that one, but seriously I cannot believe the difference from my last visit when she could not talk clearly or even stand up on her own. She really didn't know where she was until yesterday, and now wants to head home immediately, but at a minimum she will have to spend some interim time at a nursing home for rehab and more care than we can guaranty at home. Best of all, I asked my Mom if she wanted to go to see the World Champion San Francisco Giants on Opening Day two weeks from today and she said “Sure I do!” I guess we have a new goal to achieve!

Well, nobody seemed to spot the beverage so here's a closer shot with my trusty shovel. Finishing up the bottle now. Am told that it was raining at a clip of 5 inches per hour this morning. About a quarter inch is covering parts of the "basement" level of the house and the ground us practically liquified on the side of the house. There are springs of water bubbling up near our fountain and the path is cracked and sinking into the mud.

Drinking a coke among the devastation in Mayberry's back yard and getting ready to pop a DFH Bitches Brew shortly. Effectively had a mudslide right into the drainage pond that saves the house from flooding. Luckily, Frank the tenant called after trying to deal with it himself for an hour. Problem was he didn't address the real problem at the main drain uphill. Plumber snaked it and now I just have to shovel half the hill out of the back yard. Fuck me.
