Mike B and Scott are sporting some serious brew collections, and Mikeymad is pulling out the serious Irish. Nice all around, except Colin who needs to drink something better than MD. Moving on to a bastardized Tipperary Cocktail (No. 1) 1/3 Italian Vermouth. 1/3 Green Chartreuse. 1/3 Irish Whisky. Shake (I stirred) well and strain into cocktail glass. I have no Irish whiskey in the house, so Scotch whisky will have to do! Again, Ellestad recommends that it be subbed although the Rattray or the Connemara would of course be great. Cheers again!

As I said in the WAYDN thread, cheers to Gary and the hereafter. Sorry for your loss and I hope Stacy is doing alright.

Tipperary Cocktail (No. 2) 1/6 Orange Juice. 1/6 Grenadine. 1/3 French Vermouth. 1/3 Dry Gin. 2 Sprigs Green Mint. Shake well and strain into cocktail glass. OK, so I doubled his recipe but took Ellestad's advice and did half OJ and half lime juice because I am not a fan of OJ in most cocktails. I had no mint, however, so I threw in a lime garnish for the Green. Toasting Ken's departed friend Gary and Mike's dear brother Chuck, and also celebrating my 84 year old part Irish mother being sprung from the hospital after two days due to a diverticulitis type episode (her third but least serious). Cheers all!

Don't have any BL either.

I don't have any Calvados here. So I have to make something green or Irish sounding instead. Edit to respond to Edit: I thought you'd like that but also the rum/apple one. Please don't put nutmeg on the arrack/tequila one, though.

That recipe did not sound good when Underhill Lounge did it and I still think it sounds wrong. What do you think of the taste? I guess I might try it sometime.

I hope the end product at least resembles the canjam version. Of course I didn't hear it, but i feel for those who bought based on it.

That is a sweet box of goodness, right there. Colin travels light, so it shouldn't be a problem for his to Sherpa up.

Bummer, dude.

That's great Ric. Nice bonus.

Sounds excellent Jacob, and I hope it works out!

Put it on the spinner!

What's the low > high thing all about? Radiation?

I hope you like it Mike!

Thanks for honoring me with a Weasel, Bryan. Enjoy it in good health! I am most jealous of your KBS supply. That should be tasty.

Right, I forgot that AC/DC and Neil Young are from "Rock City." Sorry

Hey, look, I found a recent pic of RockFord: How is that heckling, dumbass? I said I don't know shit because I am not a DIYer or an EE, but it was clear that the part was soldered in an unusual fashion. You'll also note -- if you use your oversized detective magnifying glass -- that I said it could be soldered that way because the board was screwed up. And what did you think people were going to do when you post a bunch of pics of the components and ask them to find/fix your problem for you? Was Kevin Gilmore heckling here too? Now you have the answer that the parts were put in that way because the board had errors on it. Hurray! Somehow, this amp worked just fine for 8 years before you got it. Mysterious, yes, but not Justin's issue, not Gilmore's issue, not anybody but you and your friend DannyB. After you passed on Justin's suggestion that he would insist on swapping in new boards and could install the DACTs for you, several people, myself included, suggested that the rest was up to you and that perhaps you should just move on. I also questioned your motives -- like many people on this forum now -- and you have only served to reinforce those concerns. One thing you are right about, RockFord, is that this thread has run its course. So . . .

Yeah, my first instinct is rip that statement to shreds and line up all the ways it is wrong. But I am already trice his age and not getting any younger so I think Pars has the right response. Whatever, and for the last time, just do what you're going to do and leave us out of it.

Happy Birthday!

Fingerprints? Age and conditioning match? Basic detective? Look, Rockford Files, your comments have proven exactly what I was saying. You have been convinced since the beginning that Justin is "to blame": "I think no one fucked around in the amp. It was Justin's work." This belief is irrelevant, but also inconsistent with your detective findings. Although you are wrong that I suggested the amp was opened multiple times, it is clear that somebody opened it after Justin shipped it because there is zero chance he would have shipped it upside down and backwards. Zero. That means it was opened at least once and nobody knows what was done, what might have failed in 8 years, etc. None of this shit matters to anybody but you. If I were to attribute an ulterior motive to your actions here, I would suggest that you suspected this amp was early work by Justin that didn't look up to his current standard and that if you posted pics and insinuations then he might be embarrassed into updating it for you for free. I'm not saying that was your goal, but given your belief that this is Justin's work, all you had to do was send him a PM or email with the pics and ask him if those conditions were in the original amp when he shipped it 8 fricking years ago. That would be a straightforward way to get answers and perhaps find out if he were interested in checking it out and/or updating it for you. Instead, you went through all of this hoopla and drew a lot of attention to your alleged plight. You're not going to get any traction here, or any free work, or anything else. Just decide what you're going to do and do it.

There's just so much wrong with your position that it is hard to figure out where to start. First, enough with the annoying attempts at secrecy. You or we can "blame names" because DannyB's name is already mud here. If the amp's audible problems are so obvious to you, then how in the hell do you think he didn't know anything about it? I wouldn't doubt that he has tin ears, but come on. Second, what's up with the comment that "It needs to be up to current spec"? According to whom? An 8 year old amp -- the first one produced by HeadAmp no less -- isn't bloody likely to be up to any spec. Maybe you are just saying that is what you would want from a restoration, but why would you want to spend as much or more on fixing this thing than you could just by buying a more current model? Third, why would Justin or Kevin give a damn about this issue? There is no issue other than you bought an 8 year old amp that has had multiple owners, has been shipped multiple times, has had the insides fucked around with, and is simply long in the tooth? They shouldn't care one way or the other. There is no reputation issue here, either, which you keep hinting at in an almost threatening way. Maybe you don't post a lot and maybe you are just awkward and overly cautious, but get a grip. Either return the amp to DannyB for a FULL refund from that gear whore, or figure out a way to get it fixed. There is nothing special here, so just be an adult and move on.
