Perhaps the OP excluded the WA22 from the list because he was unaware it could power K1000s well? Seemed a risk worth taking.

If you're going for this range of amps, why not get one with a 4-pin XLR in front for the K1000 rather than dick with the binding posts? Seems like the WA22 should at least be on the list.

That they are, and I picked them up from the little pull-out parts drawer at Home Depot. Lowes had a handful last time I was there, as well. It took me two trips a month apart to get all that I needed, and I cleaned them out both times. I also opted for the "2 in front, 1 in back" threaded rod combo, againstrecommendations. Aside from having the power cord constantly hung up on that back rod when I am changing connections, I feel it was the right decision.

Yeah, It's a standard Flexy. I have some much better pictures I should put up. Pretty much the easiest DIY I've ever attempted. It looks worse the closer you get, but without too much more effort it could really look pretty good. I might have to contact Dr. Wood about some proper shelves at some point.

Mostly because it sounds better. None of them are wider than a rack space, though, so they should all fit anywhere your GES would. The ECD-1 was/is a great DAC, but for the price I think better can be had. It's probably in the top 10%, nonetheless. If you decide to do the Cullen mod business (which is apparently good stuff), I'd sell your existing unit as stock and buy a modded one. Saves about $100 and a few weeks. You're shipping something and having something shipped to you either way.
