I always presumed that upgrades were less important than the actual topology. If you're going to sink the cash in upgrades, it's probably best to simply move up to the next entire model. By that thinking, you should only bother to upgrade the WA5 and the WES out of the Woo lineup. This is, at least, how I justify stock units to that terrible, expensive, nagging voice.

You're looking for amplifiers, not energizers. No one still makes energizers. I believe you have listed all current amp manufacturers, though. I wouldn't call mikhail and mcallister "in business". As to the EMF -- everything comes at a cost. I'm unaware of any credible studies linking estats to brain tumors, but the same goes for cell phones.

I am absolutely thrilled with my K1K. I immediately enjoyed them more than I have ever enjoyed a pair of O2s, and certainly more than I've enjoyed any sigmas I've heard, 404 included. I got to run NaamanF's pair from his b22 alongside his O2s from his BH (both fed by his glorious Buffalo), and the difference was staggering to me. The K1000 does everything I love, and I prefer them to everything else I've ever heard. That said, Faust's comparison might not be inaccurate -- I also sold my fullrange speakers for a great pair of monitors.

I'd pick Denise Richards over Lou Diamond Phillips. She is at least pleasing in one way.
