I have the newer DT770/250, and to be perfectly honest, they are my least favorite of the headphones I own. I keep them because they're comfortable, closed, rugged, and relatively inexpensive (my personal requirements for work cans). If you can name others with those same qualities but better sound, I'm 100% open to suggestions.

I started out the year as a total nub, and I guess I still am, but here goes: in: AD2000 W10VTG HD650 Pro 2500 KSC75 DT770 DT880 Image X5 ER6i Pico DAC PPX3 and adapters ghetto vintage amp/radio Boston speakers out: Pro 2500 KSC75 PX100 DT880 ER6i for 09: balanced shiz trade W10VTG for vintage RS1? sell HD650? possibly move to a nicer place and get nice speaker stuff

Oops, silly me. I probably just assumed that =(. I wanted these like months ago but thought they'd never get released. I'm totally not in the market anymore, though, unless it can outperform DT770 for a similar price.

I agree completely. I only heard them briefly at a meet but thought they sounded like a bright metallic mess. I quickly took them off and didn't bother trying to fit them perfectly.

I believe the leather on the P is fake. P for pleather =( The M looks sexy as hell, though.

Damn, what's with all the Satriani hate in here? Shred isn't for everyone, but he's definitely one of the better shredders out there, musically. His groove is way better than, say, Bumblefoot.

I'm not sure I would want perfect pitch. I hear stories about people who have it, and some can't stand hearing stuff that isn't perfectly tuned. A lot of my favorite music isn't tuned to concert pitch, so...

I actually went and got some Klipsch Image X5s on sale. They seem pretty microphonic, but maybe I'm just dumb, and all the little earplug things are microphonic. I swear, I can hear myself chew and swallow; it's weird. I haven't tried running with them, yet...

Haha, no show, but I did dehydrate a bit for the last weigh-in. Final weight: 132.2 from 147.4 in 6 weeks. -11lb in the last 2 weeks. I won $50 haha.

I've pretty much decided to get a Sansa Clip sometime soon for gym duty, but I need help picking out some phones. I would prefer something cheap, so I won't feel bad if they get smashed by dumbbells or something. I currently use either my PX100s or my KSC75s, but the ambient noise is so great that I have to turn them way up, which probably is destroying my ears. My gf has some marshmallows, but I hate their sound. I'm currently leaning toward the Head-Direct RE2s. Anything else that's good and (preferably) well under $100?

The Assemblage can be balanced at the builder's discretion? Or no? Is that better or worse than the TransDAC? I'm not entirely sure who else owns/owned the TPA stuff, but I've read comments here and there from SACD Lover and swt61. Keeping an eye on naamanf's loaner program thread...
