On the note of the Park Tool Stand, and at the risk of mockery -

My GF Nechama is selling a used Park Tool stand in Brooklyn.

It has the nifty tray thingy, and the base (apparently that is an option!?), but the plastic inserts in the jaws are a bit worn.

She is also selling the wheel truing stand, and a very cool Specialized Tire box - to keep spare tires organized.

What's in da baaaahhhhhxxxxx? Some parts. Darker blue than we thought. Happiest kid in the world in this moment. **BRENT**

  • Liked the Turbo Vado Super Light so much, I bought another one in Michigan. Same silver and black. We couldn't find Claire an SL in Northern Michigan or online so we got her the  regular Turbo Vado 5.

  • I bought an e-bike. Specialized Turbo Vado 5.0 Super Light 2022 edition. Claire got a 4.0 step-through.

I MOCK YOU.

Kidding Ari, I already have all that stuff except for the spare tire box and I have no spare tires.  How is the bike shop going?

Great to hear Dan.  I just got back from a short 12 mile ride.  Not too bad as long as you keep moving but it is pretty damn warm when you stop for stop lights.  5 PR with the proper speed / cadence center and 2+ MPH faster avg speed.  Still not going to keep up with most of you guys but I was happy holding over 20MPH for the first 8 miles.

Yeah, I am up for a ride.  Where?

I put on the Garmin heart rate thing for the first time today.  I am definitely in the Nate category with an average HR of 186.  Pretty damn high.

I can come to you or you can come to me. Your preference. I was thinking about 90 min of riding at either location. I'd vote 7 or 7:30 start

If you have a 90 minute route then we should do that.  I only know my trail, Mt. Vernon and Rock Creek Park.

Well 90 min from the trail to that hill loop and back or we can ride out of here and make it up since I know my way better. Edge 800 for the win!

I can do either, you want some hill climbing?

Nice ride with John and Mike this morning.  The weather's been so damn deary and/or stormy, the only plus side is that we had no sun beating down on us.  Looking forward to a similar ride tomorrow, though would love a little less wind.

Glad to see you on your bike, Dan.

I can do either, you want some hill climbing?

Either way there is climbing :) I was planning on that Hollin Hills neighborhood. I hate to ask you to drive over again but it would make it a lot easier on me. I will owe you one.

Is that the neighborhood down by Mt. Vernon that you have to climb up a cliff?

No cliff that I remember. We can skip some of the steeper stuff though. Nothing worse than the hills in that loop that I can think of. That said I'm happy to come to you

Okay.  You mind if Alex from Fresh Bikes comes along?

I do not know.  Would it be easier to park at your house or meet you along the route?  I am not sure what the route is.

Oh yeah.  I will pick up Alex, if he is able to come, and head to your house.  I think 7:30 would be more manageable than 7:00 if I have to stop to pick him up.

Fudge, started to get ready for a short ride in the heat this afternoon and didn't even get shorts on before the thunder and lightning hit.  At least this front is supposed to signal the end of the heat/humidity for a few days.
