For a Golden Ear probably Rudistor. Otherwise Ray Samuels, amazing building quality  although you may wish going back to Head-fi, amazing doses of knowledge and unbiased know how. If you want to stay around and fit, then read the fookin welcome message and shut up.

Someone else can recommend a source.  I'm a "bits is bits" guy.  Also, I don't think EQ is anathema, as long as you retain phase coherence.

For DAP, get the Sony NW-ZX2 or go all out with the WM1Z.  I would get the Justin Gilmore Lite for desktop.

And what about this Eddie current studio? I read  \about it and most people seemed to like it.
