July 30, 200916 yr Author I am smoking a 2 year old el rico habano rico club maduro. I like these quite a bit.
July 30, 200916 yr A friend of mine really likes those 5 Vegasesees. it was different, but enjoyable. started out with a really easy draw, which weirder me out. but the taste was good, nothing amazing and intricate, but good. everything improved towards the end of the cigar. draw got more "normal", taste a little fuller. on the whole not bad for my newbie pallette. apparently they are like don pepin's budget brand. ooh, I bought some ronson lighters from wal-mart this week. much better then wood matches!
July 31, 200916 yr Smoked the big Tempus and umm...something else I can't remember during the Cannonball yesterday. Both were "meh."
August 3, 200916 yr Author I liked the "The Edge" lancero I tried. I've heard there might be counterfeit edges out there. Of course, it could just be that you don't like them
August 4, 200916 yr Fell asleep smoking a '98 Fundie last night. I was ashamed of myself this morning.
August 4, 200916 yr Author Had a JLP yesterday. Not enamoured, but for under $3, it's hard to complain.
August 4, 200916 yr Author At $3, I preferred the El Ricos, but you can't get those for $3 anymore, so I'll probably end up ordering more. I'll say I'll reserve judgement til I've had a few more. I still appreciate the pointer, they're not dog rockets. updated: trying another one now Jose L. Piedra Brevas Not bad for a cheap cigar. Construction is rough, but flavor isn't bad. August 4, 200916 yr oliva serie g. got a nice oliva score at the local b&m today. apparently it's oliva month. 10 olivas for $40. some G, some O, some V, some Nubs, some CT reserves.
August 4, 200916 yr They're machine-made, so construction can occasionally be spotty. Revisit them after they've had a rest, they're usually a bit more impressive than that. I can't recall which, but it's either the brevas or the cremas that my friends prefer.
August 5, 200916 yr Jose L. Piedra Brevas Not bad for a cheap cigar. Construction is rough, but flavor isn't bad. Have not tried the Brevas but did go through a bundle of the Cazadores. Not bad but for a little bit more you can get the Por Larranaga Panetelas which IMHO are far superior.
August 5, 200916 yr We've had nothing but bad luck with the Cazadores, which is a shame, because the size is a lot better than the smaller JLPs. The PLPs are pretty good, but a lot more expensive these days, esp. considering the size.
August 5, 200916 yr Author they claim "totalament a mano" on the box. I've had one of each so far. We'll see, I've got 24 of each left
