February 6, 200818 yr Author I'll probably be looking at that down the line. Since you own one, there is an added advantage that you can take measurements of yours for the requisite wooden faceplate.
February 11, 200818 yr Author I've never purchased anything from Audiogon, and since this is in the states would probably just get someone down there to do the deal for me in any case, but what do you think of this? http://cls.audiogon.com/cgi-bin/cls.pl?dgtltran&1204827940
February 11, 200818 yr I swear there was one for sale here... That shit looks like it was ripped from the center dash of a car.
February 11, 200818 yr The Delta is a nice transport. Don't let the textured blah Black look fool you. The money is put into the SQ, and not flashy trim.
February 12, 200818 yr Author That does look pretty cool. How old are those parasound units? I like the description, but it sounds like something where I'd be screwed if it broke. The Cal Audio wouldn't have been any better for that, but it is half the cost. I think swt61 had a parasound unit at some point, but I'm not sure if it was this particular model.
February 12, 200818 yr No it wasn't that model, but that's "THE" Parasound to get. It's a belt drive, and it is a nice transport. Very few problems with them even today. I believe Parasound still warehouses belts for these. Again it's a top loader though, will that work in your rack? Edit: (just realized it says belt drive in flashing neon letters)
February 12, 200818 yr Author Yeah, I'm just worried about it breaking down... and I don't like it all that much aesthetically speaking.
February 12, 200818 yr It's not overly pretty, I'll give you that. Just keep poking around, maybe you'll run into something you like better. The Deltas are relatively easy to come by.
February 12, 200818 yr Author Yeah, I'm in no big rush really, especially now that I can just use my eastsound in the meantime.
February 12, 200818 yr Yeah, I'm just worried about it breaking down... and I don't like it all that much aesthetically speaking. I've been in and out of that transport. First, there is a company still servicing them. Secondly, the laser assemblies are very common, and run $10-$20. I found them at http://www.electronix.com/. I don't remember the exact part number, but it's not hard to find one you open it. The transport mechanism is made by Technics.
February 25, 200818 yr Not sure if this transport as AES or not but if someone was looking for a good, inexpensive transport I'd snatch this up. http://cls.audiogon.com/cgi-bin/cls.pl?dgtltran&1209096234 Heck, if my EAD wasn't arriving today I'd buy it. I might anyway...
February 25, 200818 yr DOOO EEAATT I think when the wife sees yet another CD player arriving today she's likely to be less than impressed. If I had to admit that I had yet another one ordered she might kill me.
February 25, 200818 yr I think when the wife sees yet another CD player arriving today she's likely to be less than impressed. If I had to admit that I had yet another one ordered she might kill me. but the approval for the PS3 is there (SACD!)
February 25, 200818 yr but the approval for the PS3 is there (SACD!) SCREW SACD WE GOT NATE FOR [hcOG]
February 25, 200818 yr SCREW SACD WE GOT NATE FOR [hcOG] man i need to play for at least an hour later to represent the OGs
February 25, 200818 yr man i need to play for at least an hour later to represent the OGs Let's see, I'd be in for 8pm EST. I have work to do, though, so not too long.
February 25, 200818 yr Let's see, I'd be in for 8pm EST. I have work to do, though, so not too long. alright, i'll try to be there. got some shite to do
February 25, 200818 yr Wow, damn nice transport at a bargain price! Those TEACs give you a whole lot of what the Esoteric (TEAC) does at a fraction of the cost.
February 25, 200818 yr Well, looks like I might be buying the TEAC after all considering that the EAD just showed up and is pretty much non-fucking-functional. I mean I suppose that I could use it if I could find a way to slide the CD in without the drawer opening but that doesn't appeal to me all that much. So pissed, so fucking pissed.

I hope you can get your money back from the seller, Nate. Hopefully, you're not channelling Jacob's luck withe audio stuff.
