New HeadAmp Modules (for GS-1 and GS-X) Beta Test Program Announcement

Featured Replies

Justin - can I take your post as a sign that new module development is going smoothly?

Yes indeed, Justin. How goes it? With these results, can you give an estimate on when the new modules will be ready to go? Another balanced contender!! ;D

im still holding out hope that Linear Systems releases the new parts this year. it would still be possible to go on using the individual Toshiba FETs, matching them and bonding them together. Per amp channel I am probably already putting in 25 times as much labor compared to most op-amp based amps, with 50 parts including 12 transistors that need matching, even more on the new modules, and I have to draw the line somewhere. The Linear Systems part (the one that is available now) has been measured to be lower gain than the Toshiba so that may require some circuit changes if the overall gain isnt high enough for the negative feedback to do its job.

Justin, thank you for your fast response, I see there's some light at the end of the tunnel.

Also, with the upcoming new modules, would it be possible to have a GS-1/X with black casings and silver faceplates and vice-versa as an available option ?

(I saw one of your GS-X prototype in the So-Cal Meet and I must say it's a real beauty, much better than having it all black)

Best regards,

Julien

Why dont you do a tube amp? ;D

Aren't flagship SE/Balanced models more important than portable devices ?! I do think so but with all the waiting he has to source the fets, he does has some time to finish his last portable design...

You should focus on a new source too hehe, well... me too I guess. >:D

oh come on let him focus on the harmony portable already!

Portables! ::):-[

We want a real amp. O0

portables is where the moolah's at ;)

Very true. :'(

I want that Harmony or whatever! >:D

2. I want a DAC with USB

3. I want a USB DAC w/ upsampling

4. I want a USB DAC w/ upsampling that is portable

5. I want a good headphone amplifier

6. I want an upsampling portable USB DAC w/ a good headphone amplifier

I say the Harmony or whatever is perfect for me. :D

Yes, and it kicks serious ass. And it seems it will be called the Pico. Get in line! :D

Might as well ask for a bigger penis and a rich supermodel wife while you're at it.

Any news on the new modules? I strongly considered the updated GS-1 when my amp died. It's a neck-and-neck race between the GS-1 and CI Audio's VHP-2 so far.

jeez...I saw this on the first page and I thought Justin finally got the new modules out..:(
