diebenkorn
no, bands like Dragonforce fit under the category "can't play their songs live." They can't play their songs live because it will destroy the space time continuum.
grawk
And you know this how? Do you really know that Joe Satriani does not consider himself an artist? What he feels that he is isn't relevant to the conversation. You're welcome to believe that satriani is an artist. You'd be wrong, but you're welcome to hold that opinion. Dusty Chalk
No, he's saying that he knows this about Satriani's audience how? It's one of them "overgeneralizations". His appeal to Sherwood might be as a technician only (although I get the impression there's no appeal whatsoever). His appeal to me is as an artist, so it making it sound like his universal appeal doesn't apply to me is simply fallacious, I don't care how long he spent with his annoying guitar player/Satriani fan. That just makes him more predisposed towards being predisposed...erm...biased, that is.
Sherwood
This has devolved into semantics, so far as I can see. Your points are well-taken, Dusty.

atothex
I'll admit it: shred is one of my musical guilty pleasures. Who likes Michael Angelo Batio?
GPH
Michael Angelo Batio is not my kind of stuff, but his double guitar thing is cheesy to the point of being very funny. Knuckledragger
I remember when that video was current. Nitro were pretty over the top, even by the standards of ca. 1989 hair metal cock rockers.
Voltron
Any guitar held up by wires is cunty and stupid.

catscratch
I really liked Angelo's "No Boundaries," and not only because of a soft spot for pointless instrumental wankery. Some of the tracks were really well written. As for Nitro... ugh.
