I love that they busted out the analog synths for this record. I've only heard it at low volume out of my KSC75, but sonically it sounds much less harsh then Playing the Angel (which I also loved). A bit minimalist, sure, a bit dreamy ambient, sure, but in no way is this Exciter redux. Great vocal performances from Gahan, and Gore's production is just awesome.

I agree with the win assessment. Listening again.
