You put them on a knee board and it's perfect for displaying charts/approaches etc. and with a pencil you can jot down complicated ATC clearances. The biggest ask for a couple of years has been a brighter screen, so we'll see if the OLED is a step forward.Some folks will even mount them on the control yoke as an additional flight control display, although the FAA officially frowns on this. I was expecting a little more of a visual refresh to get excited about. Also why can't I have a cellular modem in my laptop? I know I can tether to my phone, but I'd rather, you know, use the device with the big battery. Ipad has them so why not mac?Wonder why they launched them now because I have no interest in the M5 versions. I'll wait for the M7 next year or consider jumping ship if something more compelling in the PC ecosystem comes along. RTX Spark gen 1 isn't it, but who knows what else is coming. I'm more outside the "walled garden" than ever these days, so they need to win decisevly on hardware to keep me coming back for more. Report
