October 1, 200916 yr Tomorrow, I'm flying to Philadelphia and then driving up to Scranton, PA for my niece's wedding this weekend. I don't know the area at all. I'd appreciate any suggestions for interesting things to do in the area. Thanks in advance for your help.

October 1, 200916 yr linky I was just in Philadelphia, and thoroughly enjoyed the Eastern State Penitentiary (famous for being one of the first real jails designed to instill penitence), but I don't know if it's worth taking 5 hours out of your day to do. I'd avoid Centralia.

October 1, 200916 yr Uhm, scranton. You can get mugged in scranton. Hrm, saturday the baby pens might have a game, but I'm not sure if it's at home or not. I'm about 2.5 hrs south of there. I went to high school in wilkes barre, and from my memory, the thing to do was to rent porn and drink beer.

Guzzi, are you still in Philly? If you're a foodie, you will want to check out Reading Terminal Market. It is also right next to Chinatown if you are into Asian food at all. If you're into shopping, you can check out the Rittenhouse Square area (west of Broad Street). Old City is also a great area to explore towards the eastern edge of the city. There are also several museums towards the Art Museum area.
