February 6, 20224 yr Yeah, that's part of how I see it. Also, they're pretty separated and I try to rinse my palate, so usually I don't know if there'd be much of a perception boost there.
February 8, 20224 yr Normcore tamper may be funny looking, but it works really well. And I’ve definitely been over tamping my pucks lately, so I know to have a little bit of a lighter touch now. February 8, 20224 yr I like to make my purchases in reverse order. I bought the VST, then the Flair 58, then this tamper. Next will be the grinder then...oh yeah the coffee.

February 9, 20224 yr I pulled a truly wonderful shot. Last of an Ethiopian Guji I got in NC in the fall (remember I freeze beans). I can’t complain about it at all, which is rare for me. Bright, complex, sweet, smoky. 1:2 (19.5 in) peak 6, slow pressure draw down. I’m finally dialing in the Flair, I think. Edited February 9, 20224 yr by EdipisReks1
February 10, 20224 yr Can anybody recommend a good counter top knock box? I don’t like my really cheap one, and would like to get something a little more nice to use, if that makes sense.

February 11, 20224 yr Rocking my original pour over today. It makes perfectly nice coffee, though I don’t recommend using the permanent filter in the basket only… at the beginning of the pandemic when I couldn’t get coffee filters I tried the permanent one. I used a paper towel the next day.

February 13, 20224 yr Blind shaker works as advertised. Fluffy, relatively well distributed grounds. I didn’t get it quite ready to immediately tamp, but it was also my first time. I also just like it. It reminds me of the Option-O Remi in design and build, and is just a pleasure to use.
February 15, 20224 yr The Ode is my development grinder. I’m not sure I know what I’m developing, but it’s a good chalkboard.
