  2. Revised our plans ... To match reality For the big move tomorrow. The accent wall is on hold, for now.
  3. Today
  4. a professionally hand rolled for a charity event last year that my friend passed along to me... a good smoke even if it had a little uneven burn to begin with. and I found that having little sips of cheap sake goes really well with a smoke...
  5. Yesterday
  6. Introducing the Ricoh GR IV Monochrome
  7. in contrast. Bad Brains by Bad Brains (1982) https://open.qobuz.com/album/cc8ibgp6uc1mc Example: ^^ ha - age restriction - not sure why it is just the nice tune "Pay to Cum"... Actually, more of a diverse album than I would have thought of when I just think of Bad Brains. With mellow and melody based tracks and of course reggae:

    Analysis

My favourite discovery of 2025 is Kardi, mostly because of this insanely under-rated powerhouse of a singer, Kim Yeji. I haven't heard them do songs like these two (I'll post the other one in another thread), before, respect.
  9. Doh!
  10. Last week
  11. Virgo Red by Roy Ayers Ubiquity (1973) https://open.qobuz.com/album/0060252708373 Example: Vibraphone type of day - works so well.
  12. pump the brakes.
  13. What a split legacy! Loved the comic, hated his political views. Still....RIP.....
  14. Dilbert was absolutely brilliant. RIP Scott Adams. Edit: Just read the link and found that Mr Adams was a Trump supporter. I guess he wasn't as brilliant as his comic strip.

    Podcast Thread

^^ was this suppose to be in the Analysis thread?
  16. ‘Dilbert’ creator Scott Adams dies at 68. He, uh, made some comic strips in the 90s that resonated with office workers.
  17. Great, now I'm hungry for a Bit O Honey!

  20. An oldie, but a really not a goodie… Gitmo’s 25th anniversary https://www.nytimes.com/2026/01/11/us/politics/guantanamo-prison-25th-anniversary.html?unlocked_article_code=1.EFA.vNbj.vwjzyle4UWIt&smid=nytcore-ios-share (gift article)
  21. Turned out nice.
  22. Ha. Is that the children's menu? Watching John Ford at Monument Valley. This should get me up-to-date information. https://tubitv.com/movies/571280/john-ford-at-monument-valley
  23. Weird place to put this, but I scrolled by this and thought Michael Stipe was you.
  24. So have a quick/short vacation possibly coming up and although have been nearby previously (GC, Bryce, Zion, etc.), we've not done the John Ford wet dream yet. Researching now, but anyone have any suggestions of specific buttes, mesas, petroglyphs, or other sites to visit? Even a preference between the two areas? Driving our rough & tumble Mini Countryman, so everything is on the table.
  25. Double Vision by Foreigner (1978) https://open.qobuz.com/album/0603497923533 (looks like Songlink does not really work anymore) Example: I remember this being a harder album with Double Vision and Hot Blooded. But it has a lot of delicate and subtle ballads, like example. Enjoyable album, I thought this was in the 80's, but I am remembering Foreigner 4.
  26. So...yes and no. I wouldn't say it moved further than the book, so much as...expanded everything -- character development of every single character, the detail of side quests, the cinematography, &c. You got some necessary updates, but also TV shows have to do TV show things, so every cast member has to be in every episode (mostly). At least, for the duration of the story arc. It has gotten quite meandery, and somewhat slightly bloated. At least it doesn't fall into the trap of Westworld, where it gets so abstract I'm not sure what the intention was. And yes, Ian McShane gets to sing in one episode again, just like he did in that one episode of Deadwood.
