I've got three dual discs that have enhanced stereo tracks on the DVD side of the disc. They don't show up using DVDA Explorer, but DVDA Extractor will list them just not extract them. Anybody have any luck getting the tracks off these types of discs?

As of late (and by late I mean the past year in its entirety), I have been radically drifting away from the current rock hits to the older stuff, the classic rock, as well as a lot of old Spanish music (Julio Iglesias in his younger days, for example). Though I still enjoy an occasional listen of the current stuff, I find the older stuff (made around the 70's and 80's) much more intriguing. Whether to attribute this to me getting older and thus requiring a more mature listening, or that the new stuff just doesn't seem as inspired/complex/imaginative/clever/etc as the old stuff, I cannot say. What I do know is that music I formerly considered "old people stuff" has s…

http://www.terrascope.co.uk/Terrastock7/Terrastock7_performers.htm I don't know many of the bands, but it's the only big festival that has been held here for many centuries, so I might as well go. Anyone going to make the trek down here? I know Beeble is.

The Feelies are getting back together and playing their first gig together in 15 years when they open for Sonic Youth in Battery Park (which will be my new "backyard") on July 4th. http://www.billboard.com/bbcom/news/article_display.jsp?vnu_content_id=1003786678 and http://www.pitchforkmedia.com/article/news/49827-the-feelies-reunite I am very, very happy about this. Few at the other site seem to care. At least Voltron will find this interesting.

http://www.megaupload.com/?d=OZLSR6DF The quintessential Southern Highlands songcatcher. I don't feel like writing any more, he's all over the internet. Listen for a lesson in American culture history. This record is like a time machine; the distinct musical geography + Lunsford's endearing baritone make it a classic.

I just picked this up a week ago on vinyl and CD. I haven't given the Glow Pt 2 a careful listen in a while. It safe to say that it still holds up with any of my favorite albums. If you haven't listened to this album yet than I highly recommend that you pick it it up. If you get the re-released version then it comes with an entire disc of songs that were written from this period and compliment the album quite well edit: shit. will a mod move this to the music section and delete this edit?

Just received my, bought used, and wonder which year of release are yours please. My is from year 1988 made in Germany with old fashion big double CD case. Looks like the first run, but I am not sure, cos most of what I see on Ebay now are year 2000. I was simply wondering if there any quality differences between 1988 and say 2000. To know this you have to hear them side by side, so, maybe someone had the chance to do so, please share then...Not that my are bad, but its just 20 years old, quite exceptional, for me anyway. THX

A couple years ago I finally remembered that my DAC can decode hi-res digital so I got a bunch of music to see if 24/96 and SACD were any better than plain old CD. The results have been mostly disappointing for me, most of the hi-res recording sound different but not really any better than the standard CD versions; I don't get the extra space, realism, details, and sweeter highs that hi-res proponents claim to hear. I've tried a lot of different genres from jazz & classical to metal and I'd say only around 10-15% of the music is better enough to make the hi-res version worth it, the rest of it is either marginal improvements or just different but not better. Ov…
