  1. Thanks all, I bought Jeff's Canon S100. He gave me a good deal. Figured I'd go with an inexpensive option first to see how much I actually use it. In a year if I catch the photography bug I'll look into upgrading.

If they paid me enough, I would allow it. In case you are talking to them, I would also be willing to say the Milgaus is not completely ugly.

I think most of it is making harder for the assholes to copy it. Engraving all that plus the serial number in the rehaut is at least more work for the fakes.
  5. Some RX100 concert photos, and a random Brent photo for reference.
  6. So we have been at a relatively unexpected soccer tournament this weekend. On Wednesday we received an email from the coach of the sporting St. Louis Rangers U12 boys team. They were looking for a guest player to replace their goalie for the tournament. This is one of two Academies run by The MLS team Sporting K.C. (The other one in KC). We were not sure what Peter's reaction would be as he would be playing goalie on a very high level team with players he did not know, and he would be playing U12 at 101/2. He immediately said yes and was very excited to play. So we had two games on Saturday and two on Sunday. The first game was rather calm and he made 5 solid saves, which gave him a lot of confidence as the team won 1-0. The second game was against the Chicago Fire U12 academy team. This game was a dogfight and Peter made 14 saves and let in one goal. The team won 2-1 and he definitely secured that win for them. I also must add that the Chicago Fire team was one of the dirtiest playing teams I have ever seen. We had one of our players kneed in the back, after the play was over, one player kneed in the groin, after the play was over and one of their players sitting on the goalie to prevent him from getting up. (They were fucking close to losing that player). On Sunday, the first game was a blow out and we won 9-0. Peter only touched the ball once. The second game was interesting and we eventually won 2-1 with their goal coming on a PK because our goalie took down the player in the box without actually trying for the ball. His mom was furious and my comment was as long as you are going to take him down at least use the arm bar. Anyway, we ended up winning the tournament and Peter only let in 2 goals, one of which was a PK.
  7. You'd have thought they'd have improved the playlist by now.
  8. I told them that was the worst music I ever heard in my life.
  9. The iPod is 14 years old this year too. These landmark dates are tough. When they celebrated 30 years of E.T. a couple years back I cringed. Jaws is now four decades old.
  10. OS X is 14 years old today. I feel old.
  11. Bah this thread. It makes me want a camera even though I've said on numerous occasions (specifically to Mike G) that my iPhone is the only source of photography I'll ever need. DAMN YOU JACK

Maybe they made a cheap knock-off of the laser engraver also?
  13. Another +1 on the RX100 Mkii. As soon as my S95 bites the dust (or I smash it into little bits), the Sony will be mine.
  14. Tthe freshest Costco sashimi ever
  15. Black pudding and dry aged Sunday roast.
  16. Die Antwoord show last night. Yo-Landi is as adorable as you'd imagine on stage. Very short show, but very good. There was a song off the new album I wanted to hear but they did most of their good stuff. **BRENT**
  17. Finally got Tidal setup on the SB Touch via ickstream. It's working pretty well so far.
