Over the last 15-20 years a series of photos of a Harley Davidson sidecar turned into a (street legal!) go kart have appeared online. The specifics behind them have never been fully explained, but there's a fair amount that's self evident. The photos are from Florida, in 1984. The rider (and presumably creator) of the vehicle is a young fella with an impressive beard. Almost assuredly a boomer. Florida Boomer (as I will now refer to him exclusively) took a vintage even in 1984 HD sidecar and stuck a similarly classic Harley motor on the side of it. How he managed to make a street legal vehicle is beyond me. These are about the best iterations of the photos available online. They have been posted on twitter, reddit and (ugh) pintrest many times. All with requests for more info, but no one has it. I upscaled this shot using Topaz Gigapixel AI and then cleaned it up on Photoshop. I love those 80s rims. Florida Boomer presumably did all of this on an 80s mechanic's salary. Florida Boomer didn't know how good he had it.3 points

O.S Avalon. Kenji Kawai with Warsaw Philharmonic The National Orchestra, Choir of Warsaw Philharmonic The National Orchestra and Elżbieta Towarnicka The film is very interesting, in a dystopian world where people play a war/survival game called Avalon in VR. Terrifyingly similar to what our world could be (Metaverse...). The soundtrack is frankly good, especially the choral parts are quite striking and put in trouble the ability of an equipment to put the voices in their places quickly enough.2 points

Careless Love (Deluxe Edition) Madeleine Peyroux 2004 https://album.link/i/1565053848 Example: Just some lovely close mic recordings. I really like this style. The deluxe does not add much to me, the studio tracks are so well recorded and lush that the addition of live tracks does not enhance anything for me. Maybe the only problem with a really good recording, that is what I want to listen to.2 points

One more for today: Fragments Trifecta 2021 https://album.link/i/1563955603 Example: Prog? Fusion? Jazz? All of the above. this album is all over the place. I guess it is aptly named 'Fragments'. There is interesting bits all over the place. I like the ideas, and there are great players, but it does not really come together as a whole.1 point

Overpass Marc Johnson 2021 https://album.link/i/1576344696 Example: Bass Bass and More Bass. Wonderful sounding album. If your system has capacity for low end. Pick you fav high res platform and let it roll over you.1 point

Bastion Original Soundtrack Darren Korb 2011 https://song.link/i/459457476 Example: A game that I can honestly say that I completed 3 times just because I wanted to listen to the soundtrack again, in context. It has a very Firefly soundtrack feel to it. The story and game built up to such a level that I find it hard to fight back tears when the above Zia's theme comes in.1 point

T2 psu back panel, design and cut. I wanted to have the pin outs of the sockets for the umbilical chords from the psu to amp to be on the psu back for future reference.. I decided to go for 10degree 0.1mm tip engraving bit for the lettering, 0.025mm depth of cut rather than laser. Screw holes done with 3.175 end mill and main cut outs 6mm end mill. Now I have a good collection of quality bits and little experience now. CNC machining is starting to become FUN 🙂. Its so much nicer and more satisfying watching a CNC cut than using a hand drill and Dremel... Tool changing is a bit of a hassle and then I have to use a Z block and Z probe command get the new Z height reference for the tool sickout. So I try to minimise the number of different tools used. Tape hold-down and CA glue works perfectly. I'm very happy with the surface finish, perhaps the text for the pinouts and lines could be a little narrower, but its certainly not a disaster. Cut still currently in progress: The nice thing about symmetrical panels is that you can always adjust your settings and have another go with the other side... I decided to decrease the line width by half, nock 20% off the size of the socket decals, decrease the socket decal font size, change the style of the lines and reduce the engraving depth from 0.025 to 0.02mm... I think the new version should look a little less blocky and a bit more refined... The 0.02mm engraving depth is slightly too little, other than that I think its an improvement.1 point
