  1. Tales: Live in Copenhagen 1964 (Live) Bill Evans 2023 https://album.link/i/1715457640 Example: Great Sunday listen. It almost just sounds like live in the studio (no audience for the first 6 tracks). So I did some research. 1-6 recorded at Radiohuset, Copenhagen, August 10, 1964 7-10 recorded at TV-City, Copenhagen, August 25, 1964 11 recorded at Stakladen, Aarhus, Denmark, November 21, 1969. The recording of the second half of the album is still good, just not as great as the first 6. But it seems that Bill was really in a nice groove in 64 and these tracks are a lot of fun.

  2. Okay Speaking of 1964 Speaking of Live Speaking of Jazz Trio Con Alma: The Oscar Peterson Trio – Live in Lugano, 1964 Oscar Peterson 2023 https://album.link/i/1702942233 Example: Now these are examples of good archive recordings. Well recorded, great performances and so fun. So many other unreleased live performances are unreleased for a reason. This does not seem to suffer from that. I also enjoy the 'album' format. 6 tracks - 43 minutes. I don't always need the ultimate complete recordings with 74 tracks and 8 hour runtime. {opens TIDAL and searches for '1964 live'}

  4. It had been a long time since I had seen any of these. And about a week ago YouTube served one up to me. I have almost finished all three seasons at this point.

  6. Dusty, you need your hearing checked asap if you haven't done that yet. I'm sorry for this condition, protect your hearing from loud sounds. >90 dB(A) is too loud.

  7. Anyone enjoying new gear? I've been starting to jam techno type stuff with the Elektron boxes sequencing, and it's pretty great. And with the Digitone Keys controlling the Moog Matriarch, I've got 7 octaves of keyboard. Currently have it going through my Zoom multi-pedal for shimmer reverb, and it's sounding so good. I recently got the Drumbrute Impact, which I'm sequencing with the Digitakt. Pretty fun. I really need to practice more with this setup. I want to get some more effects, but I'm also trying not to shop much anymore, because that becomes its own hobby and distracts from creation.

  9. While my wife's sister and her husband are up helping their daughter (she just had her second child, a boy!), we are dog-sitting for their dog Mia. Super cute and sweet Mini Goldendoodle. She loves her own "pets." Also posting a pic here for amusement....it's like DOTU moved to Maine 😄

  10. remove the PCB on the power supply front panel there are 2 sets of wire jumpers for each one ,cut the 2 wires that go into pin 3+4 and solder them together The necessary pin connections are written on the board You should also reduce the value of the AC Input fuses by 50% WARNING: Do not attempt any of this unless you are qualified and experienced

  12. This is what my living room looks like when Eleanor leaves home for 9 weeks to work. I got the K&M Omega 3-tier keyboard stand and it has improved my quality of life a lot. It's rock solid, very adjustable, and it stops me from buying more synths because I can't fit anything else on it. 😂 There's not much that a person can't do with this combination of synths and samplers. The Matriarch is a beast and I love it. I was able to get it last year after my cover band had a string of lucrative gigs.

  13. I got an email from Brian Wampler apologizing to me -- personally! -- for selling out his new Germanium Tumnus before he even had a chance to advertise it to me. Does that count? No, seriously, I damaged my hearing a couple weeks ago, and now I just want to throw everything in the river. I went to a (someone else's) gig tonight, and half the time it sounded like there was a ring modulator over the whole mix. Grating. If I could cry, I would. As it is, I mourn. This is groovy as the aging hippie chick I saw dancing earlier tonight. Great stuff.
