  1. Honestly, "roaming a luxury hotel drunk and naked" is quite far up my list of life goals.

  3. Final batch. This isn't all of them, but it's beyond my ability to xref which ones I've posted before at this point. If you really require more roverhub, check this tag. Gratuitous bork: Probably my favorite photo of the day. I did a bunch of interior shots, a number of which were marred by the damn lens hood being askew, and others flawed with lighting issues. This one actually nails it. No one mentions "bokeh" when talking about Canon EF 14-40mm F/4 superwide zoom, but the fact of the matter is that it handles OOF highlights very well.

  5. Roger Waters: This Is Not A Drill by Roger Waters (2025) https://album.link/nkjdhgpg5zswt Example: I assume that the visuals were a lot more political than the music. It sounds really good, and I liked some of the reworkings of some tunes.

  8. True story: Kenji Kawai wanted to use Bulgarian folk singers for that, but couldn't find any (in Japan), so he had the Japanese folk singers (that he worked with before) learn how to sing like that. (Paraphrasing the rest from memory, so it may not be accurate.) By the time he was done, he had created a new genre, with Bulgarian harmonies, but distinctly Japanese notes and melodies.

  9. Where was I? It's kind of a nightmare to cross reference which photos I've already posted, so I'm just going by "date uploaded" at this point. Sharp eyes can differentiate between a Series II and IIa. Bork!

  10. Another 2.5 hour treatise of Evangelion. I like this along with the other breakdown that I recently watched, they focus on different aspects and ultimately bring more understanding than either of them alone. Solidifying that the Anime kicks ass.

  11. I use/have used those CCS. Good for +/-500V. I’ve replaced 2SA79/2SK216 with KSA1220/KSC2690. Looks like KSA1220 is ended, but TTA004/TTC004 should be fine.

  12. Thanks, guys! Found this here as well https://www.head-fi.org/threads/6922-tube-review-17-top-6922-6n23p-e88cc-cca-7308-e188cc-tubes.761078/ Looks like the Valvo E88CC CCa Herleen white imprint and gold pins is a best buy for around 90/pair here in Europe. Interesting the list above is headed by a Russian REFLECTOR make with silver shields specifically from 1975, even in front of Telefunken or Siemens. They are talking "solid state fast and precise, but with tube liquidity and warmth".

  13. Swapped a ref102 from the positive rail PSU while turning it off. Now measuring -259.27 for the -260V rail and confirming the problem was a malfunctioning ref102, so the PSU is now fully operational. Will let it run for several hours. Any procedure for load testing it? Kerry, JoaMat, James, Craig - thank you very much! Now off to making the umbilicals and finishing the amp 🙂 soldering the LEDs next - anything special about testing and matching them?

  15. I’m not much of a sports guy, so probably behind the times, but there’s sperm racing now? https://www.spermracing.com/races (“race video”) “how the race works: we've designed a microscopic racetrack that mimics the reproductive system—chemical signals, fluid dynamics, synchronized starts. high-resolution cameras track every microscopic move. it's all live-streamed, complete with stats, leaderboards, and instant replays. the winner? the sperm that crosses the finish line first, verified by advanced imaging. the stakes have never been smaller—or bigger.”
