A Search for the All in One: USB DAC + Headphone Amp One Box Solution
So that's what you replaced your Gilmore Balanced with...good choice. I still think that the Apogee Mini-DAC was the best DAC that I've tried (not that I've tried many of them, but still). I preferred it heavily over the DAC-1, which I enjoyed immensely, especially because it was so fast and crisp, but I felt that the slight warmth that the Apogee offers was better suited to my tastes. Too bad I had the sell the thing (along with almost everything I've ever bought audio-wise) because I needed the cash for college.

Those speakers look like they have 32 headphone drivers on each. Look nice. Good catch on the GS1000 there.

So I sent in my HD580 for repair and got back a....
To be honest I thought that the HD595 (and the other of the series) were a refreshing addition to the Sennheiser lineup. Sure, sure, they don't have the signature Sennheiser sound that we all know and love (that being laid back and pristine), but they do offer that extra umph that some people would like from Senns. Basically it's a Sennheiser that you can listen to at lower volumes and still get some good work out of them. I'd keep them and just buy a used HD580.

Pretty

Thinking about getting an L3000...
Nice looking pen, I guess I can why you'd be nervous to take it out of the house. Don't want that bad boy slipping out of your pocket or mysteriously disappearing now do you?

My Firefox is running like shit...
Well after extensive use of Camino for the past few weeks, I'm beginning to dislike it quite a bit. It's much too slow on a PPC G4 based Mac OS X system and it begins to suck hardcore when things get too busy for it. I've switched to Shiira and it's quite a nice browser. Fast as all fuck.

new dream theater (Systematic chaos)
Train Of Thought is pretty good, but I never really liked Six Degress of Inner Turbulence, but I do have get the desire to listen to it sometimes. Train of Thought has a few goods songs on it, but I think it can be a hit or miss depending on your tastes.
